Becoming in Tech: A Journey of Curiosity and Growth
From curiosity to leadership: how embracing authenticity and creativity shaped my journey in tech.
I didn’t start in tech with a clear plan, but I’ve grown into a voice that now helps shape the space that first drew my curiosity.
I was sixteen when I first stepped into the world of tech, without really knowing where I fit or where it would take me. It wasn’t a straight path. It challenged me, pushed me, and slowly shaped how I think.
Through Technovation, I learned how to turn ideas into real solutions. I started as a participant, building skills, asking questions, and learning to trust my voice in a space filled with people who were already creating and expressing themselves in ways I looked up to.
Over time, that experience evolved. I moved from learning into contributing, and today I’m part of the Technovation alumnae community and leadership board, where I focus on creating opportunities for the next generation of women in tech. This includes initiatives like the AI Venture Accelerator, designed to empower young women not only to learn how to use AI, but to build with it, lead with it, and shape its future.
At the same time, I’ve been building my career in data—solving business problems and turning data into insights that support decision-making. Different environments, same mindset.
And that mindset isn’t just technical.
There is a quiet pressure in tech to fit into a certain mold—to think the same, speak the same, and follow paths that already exist. But not everything meaningful comes from fitting in. It also comes from bringing your own perspective, noticing patterns others might miss, and approaching problems in a way that feels true to you.
Creativity plays a big role in that. It is what gives technical work depth, and authenticity is what makes that work meaningful.
There have been moments where things didn’t work—moments of doubt, frustration, and uncertainty. But those moments were part of the process. They shaped how I think and how I adapt. Looking back, this journey was never just about breaking into tech, but about becoming someone who can navigate uncertainty and stay creative.
You don’t need everything figured out to begin. What matters is trusting yourself enough to keep going.
