Transforming Life's Unexpected Setbacks Into Your Greatest Strength and Purpose
Beyond the Interruption™: How an Unexpected Setback Became My Greatest Asset
For years, I believed success followed a straight line.
Work hard. Build your career. Earn promotions. Keep moving forward.
For more than two decades, I built a career spanning multiple industries and roles, always driven by one passion: helping people grow. Whether I was developing leaders, mentoring employees, creating engagement strategies, or building cultures where people could thrive, I found purpose in helping others recognize their potential.
Then everything changed.
A layoff changed more than my employment status. It caused me to second-guess myself, question my purpose, and want more control over my future. It didn't help that I was also navigating the challenges of aging parents and two daughters preparing for college. The timing couldn't have been more difficult.
For a while, I focused on what I had lost instead of what I still possessed. It wasn't easy, but over time I realized that what I had built over two decades hadn't disappeared. It was still within me. I realized that my experience wasn't something to move past. It was something to build upon.
So instead of starting over, I built on what I already knew. I took the parts of my career that brought me the greatest fulfillment—mentoring people and creating systems that empowered them to grow, contribute, and be seen—and launched BestView Coaching.
I began sharing my story and intentionally positioned my experience to attract the right conversations. Those conversations turned into meaningful connections and coaching clients, proving that an interruption doesn't have to end your story.
With the right mindset and strategy, it can become the foundation for your next chapter—and your next income stream.
That's when Beyond the Interruption™ was born.
Today, I help women recognize that their interruptions don't diminish their value. They reveal it. Whether the interruption is a layoff, burnout, divorce, an unexpected career transition, or simply feeling called toward something more, it can become the catalyst for becoming the person your next chapter requires.
Now, when life interrupts my plans, I no longer ask, "Why did this happen to me?" Instead, I ask, "What is this interruption preparing me for?"
That question transformed my perspective, clarified my purpose, and became my greatest asset.
I believe it can become yours, too.
There's Purpose in Life's Interruptions™.
