I Didn't Just Write It. I Lived It.
Learning to Navigate Life's Journey with Patience and Grace
There was a time when I thought moving forward meant constantly doing something. Applying for another opportunity. Finding another solution. Trying another approach. Praying another prayer. I believed that if I kept pushing hard enough, eventually things would work out the way I hoped.
But life has taught me something different.
Patience, endurance, setbacks, and discouragement are all part of the process. They don't always arrive one at a time. Sometimes they show up together, each competing for my attention while I'm simply trying to make it to the finish line.
I've learned that I cannot allow every emotion I experience to determine the direction I take.
There are things I can change, things I can influence, and things completely outside my control. Learning to recognize the difference has changed how I approach difficult seasons.
Sometimes I need to keep going. Sometimes I need to change direction. And sometimes I need to rest, reset, and allow myself the grace to be human.
Having faith doesn't mean I never get discouraged. Being determined doesn't mean I never get tired. And trusting the process doesn't mean I always understand it.
It means learning to be patient with myself while continuing to grow.
I still believe things can work out, even when they don't happen when or how I expected.
I've learned that patience, endurance, setbacks, and discouragement may all be passengers on this journey. I can't always control when they show up, but I can decide how much influence I give them.
Those feelings may be in the car, but I don't have to give them the steering wheel.
