What drew you to this profession? What do you love most about your job? What experiences inspire you in your work?
My name is Danielle Roque, and I have dedicated over 16 years to the nursing home and retirement living industry. My journey began at the front desk as a receptionist, where I discovered my passion for serving seniors and supporting the dedicated professionals who care for them. I loved greeting residents and family members, answering calls, and assisting staff—it was the heart of community connection. But I knew I wanted to contribute on a larger scale.
To further my career, I earned my Associate of Applied Science in Business Management and later transitioned into a Human Resources Assistant role at another retirement community. This experience opened new doors: attending job fairs, hosting wellness events, and joining the Star Committee to celebrate employee achievements. In 2013, I enrolled in a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources and Organizational Leadership program, graduating in 2015.
Human Resources drew me in because it aligns with my strengths—communication, empathy, and strategic thinking. I value the diversity of people I meet, the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, and the ability to make a positive impact every day. My approach is both analytical and people-centered, combining methodical decision-making with genuine compassion.
Today, I serve as the Director of Talent & Learning at Holland Lake Rehabilitation & Wellness Center in Weatherford, Texas. In this role, I have the privilege of influencing two key areas: hiring exceptional talent and celebrating our staff. Each day, I strive to make a difference by selecting candidates who will provide excellent care to our residents. I also coordinate employee appreciation events throughout the year, such as National Nurses Week and National Nursing Assistants Week, where our teams are recognized with gifts, vendor treats, and community celebrations.
As a detail-oriented and performance-driven professional, I’m committed to building strong, motivated teams. I take pride in supporting every employee—organizing, inspiring, and empowering them to reach their full potential. I believe that success is rooted in collaboration, humility, and the continuous pursuit of growth. The relationships I’ve built with CNAs, RNs, LVNs, and community members inspire me daily to lead with purpose and gratitude.
Currently, I am pursuing my Master of Science in Human Resources at Rasmussen College, continuing to strengthen my leadership skills and deepen my impact within the senior living industry. My long-term goal is to advance into a corporate or regional leadership role, where I can further champion employee engagement, professional development, and organizational excellence.
In addition to my leadership experience, I am skilled in cultivating professional relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to achieve business objectives, enhance operational performance, and drive organizational success.
