Standing tall and being true to yourself in business
Have you ever felt that you had to shrink yourself or diminish your presence to make others feel more comfortable?
Over the last 25 years, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the most remarkable people—but I have also encountered managers and organizations that lacked the basic skills to lead. Too often, a title or a name tag is mistaken for a license to treat others as if they are beneath you.
In my experience, every role is essential to a company’s success. The person answering the phone is our voice. As your Regional Manager, I am the face of this company. Whether I am attending sporting events with residents, seeing you at the grocery store, or voting at the precinct, I believe everyone brings unique value toward our common goals.
I encourage you to wear your character as proudly as your name tag. Let your word be solid. Approach each day with positivity. Do not shrink yourself for the comfort of others. Speak confidently, share your experience, and use your expertise to lift those around you while advancing your own career.
Too often, I see knowledgeable women met with outdated attitudes. Regardless of appearances, I know how to set a manufactured home, pour concrete, and operate heavy machinery. Growing up on a farm taught me one thing: hard work has no gender. You simply assess what needs to be done—and you make it happen.
Stand tall. Remain assertive in your abilities. Do not allow others to dictate the value of your knowledge or how you choose to share it.
You are the author of your own life. Do not let anyone else add quotes to your book. You alone hold the power to impact the world—with your personality, your intellect, and your personal brand.
