People often ask what the secret to success is. They expect me to talk about strategies, networking, or business growth. Those things matter, but they're not what got me here.
The truth is, success rarely looks the way we imagine it will.
There was a time in my life when I truly believed I would always hear the word "no." I survived an abusive relationship that left me questioning my worth, my confidence, and whether I was capable of building the life I dreamed of. Starting over wasn't glamorous. It was messy, emotional, and filled with moments when quitting would have been the easier option.
But I made a decision: my past would explain me, not define me.
That decision changed everything.
My Real Job Is Much Bigger Than Mortgages
Today, I have the privilege of helping families achieve homeownership, but my real job is much bigger than mortgages. It's reminding people that they are capable of more than they believe. Sometimes my clients come to me thinking their finances, their credit, or their past mistakes have already written their story. I understand that feeling because I've lived it.
I've learned that leadership isn't about having all the answers. It's about showing up consistently. It's answering the phone when someone is overwhelmed. It's finding solutions when everyone else sees obstacles. It's choosing integrity, even when no one is watching.
Stay True to Your Battle Rhythm
One piece of advice my husband has given me has stayed with me through every season of life: Stay true to your battle rhythm.
There will always be difficult days. Business slows down. Plans change. Life throws unexpected challenges your way. During those moments, it's easy to abandon the habits that helped you grow in the first place. Instead, I've learned to lean into them. Discipline often carries us when motivation cannot.
Give Yourself Grace
I've also learned to give myself grace.
As women, we often feel pressure to have everything perfectly balanced—our careers, our families, our relationships, and our personal goals. The reality is that balance doesn't always exist. Some seasons require more from us than others, and that's okay. Grace allows us to keep moving forward without believing we have to be perfect.
