The Courage to Lead Differently

Why curiosity, conviction, and integrity matter more than having all the answers.

I have never been particularly interested in doing something a certain way simply because that is how it has always been done. Perhaps that explains much of my professional journey. I am naturally curious. I question assumptions, look for possibilities, and find genuine excitement in turning something complicated into something that works better.

But if there is one thing experience has taught me, it is that challenging the status quo requires more than a good idea. It requires conviction, resilience, and the willingness to take responsibility for what comes next. That is where my philosophy of leadership begins.

I Lead with Questions, Not Assumptions

I have always believed that the quality of our decisions depends on our willingness to question what we think we know. Why do we do it this way? Who does this decision affect? What are we overlooking? Could we create something better?

These questions have guided me through organizational transformations, complex people decisions, and technological change. My passion lies in building things that make a difference. Whether that means rethinking a process, creating a new capability, or connecting technology with human needs, I enjoy the challenge of turning an idea into meaningful progress.

Yet I have learned that being passionate about an idea does not automatically make it the right one.

Integrity Is What Makes Influence Worth Having

As careers progress, responsibilities expand and the ability to influence decisions grows. But I have never believed that authority should place anyone beyond questioning. In fact, the greater our influence, the greater our responsibility to exercise it thoughtfully.

For me, integrity means being consistent in what I say, what I believe, and what I do. It means keeping commitments, giving credit where it belongs, acknowledging mistakes, and refusing to compromise ethical standards for short-term convenience. It also means having the courage to disagree respectfully.

My Passion Is Transformation. My Purpose Is People.

Throughout my career, technology and transformation have become powerful expressions of what I enjoy most: solving problems, connecting ideas, and building possibilities.

I am fascinated by how artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and better organizational design can change the way we work. But I don't believe progress should be measured solely by how much we automate, how quickly we deliver, or how sophisticated our systems become. The more meaningful question is whether we are creating something better for the people who use them.

Leadership Is Personal, Even When the Decisions Are Professional

Beyond my professional identity, I am a mother, a partner, and a person who continues to evolve. Motherhood has given another dimension to how I think about influence. I want my daughter to grow up knowing that she can be ambitious without compromising her character, confident without needing everyone's approval, and independent enough to question what does not make sense.

I want her to recognize that kindness and strength can coexist, that knowledge should never eliminate curiosity, and that integrity matters most when it is tested. These are not simply lessons I hope to teach her. They are principles I want reflected in how I live. And perhaps that is why leadership, to me, has never been confined to a title or an organization. It is an expression of character.

The Kind of Influence I Want to Leave Behind

I am proud of the work I have done, the challenges I have navigated, and the opportunities I have had to build and transform. But I don't want my professional legacy to be measured only by projects delivered, systems implemented, or positions held. I want to be remembered as someone who challenged thinking without diminishing people, pursued progress without compromising principles, and created opportunities for others to succeed.

I am still learning. Still questioning. Still discovering what is possible. And I hope that never changes.
