Unlocking Leadership Potential: How Diagnostic Design Thinking and Coaching Transform Women Leaders During Crisis

The Power of a Diagnostic Design Thinking Group

Over the last 10 years, I have been a certified Vistage Coach, a certified Healthcare Team Advantage Coach, and a participant in multiple coaching programs. During the pandemic, I specifically volunteered with HBA, supporting women leaders who suddenly found themselves on what felt like an island of misfits. These women were experts in their fields—they knew their jobs inside and out—but many struggled to navigate the overwhelming pressure of balancing family needs, personal needs, and the unprecedented speed at which companies were racing to help the world develop vaccines.

One of the most meaningful opportunities I was given was the privilege of leading two Diagnostic Design Thinking intensives. There is extraordinary power in combining psychological safety with a structured, disciplined process—one strong enough to open Pandora’s box and unlock the dungeon of fear that often goes unspoken.

The IQVIA executive team participated first, completing a six-month intensive. Once they experienced the value of the process, they extended it to their HBA Women’s Cohort—a group of thirty women divided into five smaller teams. International time zones never bothered me; the quiet hours of the night offered the perfect backdrop to truly hear their hearts and understand their challenges.

Coaching groups is not merely about shifting mindset. It is about uncovering what the subconscious is orchestrating behind the scenes. This powerful conductor of your success lives deep within you, constantly reminding you of past experiences that trigger hesitation or fear. Some of this wiring is protective—designed to keep you safe. But other subconscious patterns quietly sabotage your efforts.

The only way to unravel these patterns, rewire them, and reconnect with your full potential is to begin thinking in new ways—and you cannot do that alone. You need love, care, and a guide who can help the group dig deep into the real barriers holding them back. Diagnostic Design Thinking becomes a shortcut to solving the pain of indecision, stalled progress, or internal conflict.

It is in those collective breakthroughs that transformation truly begins.
