The Season That Built Me

There was a time in my life when I thought the weight of everything I was carrying would eventually break me. Life has a way of piling things on all at once. Sometimes it's disappointment. Sometimes it's grief. Sometimes it's waiting for prayers that seem to take forever to be answered.

If I'm honest, there were moments when I wanted to throw in the towel. I was tired—not just physically tired, but tired in my spirit. I questioned myself. I questioned the process. I wondered why certain doors seemed to stay closed while everyone else appeared to be moving forward.

Looking back now, I'm thankful for every person who loved me enough to hold me accountable. Accountability isn't always comfortable. Sometimes it comes in the form of a hard conversation. Sometimes it's someone reminding you of who you are when you've forgotten. Sometimes it's someone refusing to let you settle for less than your potential.

At the time, I didn't always appreciate it. Today, I'm grateful for it.

Adversity has a way of teaching lessons that comfort never could. It teaches patience. It teaches humility. It teaches perseverance. Most importantly, it teaches us that our strength doesn't come from having an easy life. It comes from continuing to move forward when life isn't easy.

My faith has carried me through seasons I never would have chosen for myself. It reminded me that delays are not always denials and that growth often happens in places we never expected. I didn't always understand what God was doing, but I learned that I could trust Him even when I couldn't see the whole picture.

If you're walking through a difficult season today, don't give up. Keep showing up. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep taking one step at a time, even if that's all you can manage.

One day, you'll look back and realize that the very season you thought would break you was the season that built you.

I'm still growing. I'm still learning. But one thing I know for sure is this: resilience isn't about pretending life is easy. It's about trusting God enough to keep moving forward, even when the road gets hard.

And sometimes, that's more than enough.
