How Do You Know Your Book Idea Is a Good One?

People often ask me, "How do you know your book idea is a good one?" For me, the answer was simple: Why Me? Realizing My Life Is Not a Mistake is the true story of my life.

My book was born out of my personal experiences, childhood upbringing, lessons learned, setbacks, disappointments, victories, and triumphs. As I reflected on my journey, I realized that every challenge I faced served a purpose. The obstacles that once seemed unfair helped shape my character, strengthen my faith, and position me to become the leader I am today.

There are three reasons I knew my story was worth sharing.

1. It Was a Story Others Could Connect With

Writing the book became a form of therapy and healing for me. It allowed me to confront past hurts, process painful experiences, and find meaning in moments that once brought confusion and heartbreak. Through writing, I discovered that healing often begins when we tell our stories.

2. It Helped Me Recognize How Far I Had Come

Writing the book helped me recognize how far I had come. Sometimes we become so focused on where we're going that we forget to celebrate how much we've overcome. Looking back on my journey reminded me of God's faithfulness and gave me a greater appreciation for the strength, resilience, and perseverance He developed within me.

3. It Could Serve as a Testimony for Others

My story could serve as a testimony for others. Many people ask, "Why me?" when they face adversity. I wanted readers to know that life's challenges do not have to break or destroy them. Instead, those experiences can refine, develop, and mature them into the person God created them to be.

What was meant to discourage them can become a source of strength, purpose, and hope.

Your Story Matters

Someone is waiting to be encouraged, inspired, and transformed by the lessons you've learned along the way. Never underestimate the power of your story. The experiences that shaped you may be exactly what someone else needs to hear to find hope, healing, and the courage to keep moving forward.
