Her Interview
Ten minutes with Annette
01What do you attribute your success to?
First and foremost, I attribute my success to God and my faith. Perseverance and dedication have been critical throughout my journey. I've also been blessed to have some powerful mentors in my life who have poured into me and given me honest feedback on my career and personal endeavors. These mentors have been instrumental in helping me grow and achieve what I have today.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I've ever received is to find your voice and not be afraid to advocate for yourself, because you're going to be your biggest cheerleader. You have to be willing to speak up for yourself, take charge of your career, and champion your own success, because no one else will do it for you the way you can.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I think the most important advice I would give to young women entering this field is to be true to yourself and your craft. Stay authentic to who you are and remain committed to the work you do. Don't compromise your values or try to be someone you're not - your authenticity is what will make you successful in this industry.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I think the biggest challenge in my field right now is helping people realize they need a coach. People need to understand that a coach is a collaborative partner, advocate, and supporter who can help them in their personal and professional growth. The opportunity lies in educating people about the value of coaching and how it can transform their lives and careers.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me start with faith, which is always at the top of my list. Integrity is essential - leading with honesty in everything I do. I value service and giving back to others, which is why I do volunteer work in some capacity every day. Excellence is critical because I strive to deliver the highest-quality service in everything I do. Transformation is essential to my coaching work, as I focus on helping others grow, change, and fulfill their goals. I also deeply value perseverance, loyalty, and collaboration - being a person of my word that people can count on and working together with others to achieve success.
