From Corporate Success to Entrepreneurial Purpose: How a Career Setback Led to a New Beginning

When She Realized Her Journey Could Help Someone Else

For more than twenty-five years, I built my career helping healthcare providers succeed.

I worked behind the scenes, strengthening revenue cycles, improving operations, solving billing challenges, and creating systems that allowed providers to focus on what mattered most: their patients.

I celebrated their successes. I watched practices grow. I helped others build businesses they could be proud of.

What I didn't realize was that while I was helping everyone else believe in their vision, I hadn't fully believed in my own.

Everything Changed on June 2, 2025

Everything changed on June 2, 2025, when I learned my position was being eliminated. Like so many professionals, I suddenly found myself wondering what came next after dedicating decades to a career I truly loved.

The following day, my daughter said something I'll never forget.

"What you do for everyone else... why don't you do it for yourself?"

Three days later, on June 6, 2025, KLH Medical Billing & Consulting, LLC was born.

My Journey Became Bigger Than Me

At first, I wasn't sharing my journey because I thought I had all the answers. I was sharing it because I hoped someone else needed to hear that it is never too late to begin again.

Then something unexpected happened.

  • Women started reaching out.
  • Healthcare professionals began asking questions.
  • People I had never met shared that my story reminded them they weren't alone in starting over.

That's when I realized my journey had become bigger than me.

It wasn't simply about launching a business.

  • It was about showing that decades of experience still matter.
  • That setbacks don't erase purpose.
  • That being laid off doesn't define your future.
  • That sometimes life redirects you toward the work you were always meant to do.

Sharing My Story

Today, I still help healthcare organizations build stronger financial and operational foundations. But I also understand that sharing my story may be just as important as sharing my expertise.

  • If my journey gives one woman the confidence to pursue the business she's been dreaming about...
  • If it reminds one professional that experience is never wasted...
  • If it encourages someone to believe that a difficult ending can become a meaningful beginning...

Then every step that brought me here has been worth it.

I've learned that our greatest impact isn't always found in what we accomplish.

Sometimes it's found in having the courage to share the journey that got us there.

Your story may be the permission someone else has been waiting for.
