Her Story
About Renee
After more than 25 years in healthcare revenue cycle management, Renée Hunter founded KLH Medical Billing & Consulting, LLC with one mission: to help healthcare organizations build stronger financial and operational foundations while allowing providers to focus on what matters most: caring for their patients.
Throughout her career, Renée has partnered with behavioral health providers and healthcare organizations, specializing in medical billing, credentialing, payer enrollment, revenue cycle management, compliance, operational consulting, and workflow development. She believes successful organizations are built on more than accurate billing; they're built on efficient systems, strong processes, and trusted partnerships.
In 2025, an unexpected career transition became the catalyst for building something she had always envisioned. Encouraged by her daughter, who challenged her to invest in herself after years of helping others, Renée transformed more than two decades of experience into a consulting firm dedicated to helping healthcare organizations thrive through education, consulting, and operational excellence.
Today, Renée partners with practices across multiple states, providing revenue cycle consulting, credentialing, medical billing, operational strategy, and one on one provider education. Whether she's solving complex revenue cycle challenges, improving workflows, or mentoring providers, her goal remains the same: to help organizations operate more efficiently so clinicians can spend more time caring for the people they serve.
Renée believes leadership is measured not by titles, but by the people you help succeed. Her greatest fulfillment comes from empowering providers, strengthening organizations, and building lasting relationships grounded in integrity, collaboration, and service. For Renée, success is ultimately measured by the lives she helps improve one practice, one provider, and one relationship at a time.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Renee
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to faith, perseverance, and the encouragement of my daughter. During a pivotal moment in my career, she challenged me to do for myself what I had spent decades doing for other organizations. That conversation gave me the courage to build KLH Medical Billing & Consulting. I also believe success comes from never stopping learning, treating people with integrity, and genuinely caring about the clients and providers I serve.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I ever received came from my daughter. She told me, "Mom, do for yourself what you've done for everyone else." Those words changed my life. They reminded me that the knowledge, experience, and leadership I had spent more than 25 years building could become something of my own. That advice gave me the confidence to start KLH Medical Billing & Consulting.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never stop learning. Be curious, ask questions, and don't be afraid to start at the beginning. Every role you take teaches you something valuable. Build your reputation on integrity, consistency, and excellence, because people remember how you make them feel and whether they can trust you. Most importantly, don't underestimate your own abilities. Sometimes the biggest step in your career is believing you're capable of building something of your own.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest opportunities in healthcare today is helping providers strengthen their revenue cycle while reducing administrative burden. Many practices are overwhelmed by changing insurance requirements, credentialing delays, staffing shortages, and increasing compliance expectations. My passion is helping organizations build efficient systems that improve financial performance, allowing providers to spend more time focused on patient care. As KLH continues to grow, I'm excited to expand our team so we can serve even more healthcare organizations with the same level of excellence and personalized support.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, lifelong learning, faith, and service are the values that guide both my professional and personal life. I believe there is always something new to learn, and I strive to approach every opportunity with humility, curiosity, and a commitment to excellence. Building trusted relationships, serving others with honesty, and leaving every organization stronger than I found it are principles that shape both my work and my life.
