Who Are You, Uninterrupted?
Discovering Your True Self Beyond the Roles You Play
Who Are You, Uninterrupted?
There are certain questions that stop you in your tracks.
Not because they're difficult to answer, but because they reveal answers you've been avoiding.
For me, that question was simple:
Who are you, uninterrupted?
I first heard this question from entrepreneur and author Felicia Hatcher, and it immediately challenged me. It wasn't asking about my career, my accomplishments, or the many roles I fulfill every day. It was asking something much deeper.
Who am I when I remove every title?
Roles That Shape Us, but Don't Define Us
For years, I introduced myself through the roles I held—recruiter, leader, business owner, coach, wife, daughter, and friend. Each role has shaped me, and I value every one of them. But over time, I realized something important: while those titles describe what I do, they don't define who I am.
Like many women, I spent years pouring into everyone else. I built teams, helped professionals advance their careers, supported organizations through growth and change, and celebrated the success of others. Yet somewhere along the way, I had to pause and ask whether I was giving the same attention to becoming the woman I was created to be.
That period of reflection changed everything.
A Personal Decision
Stepping away from the security of a traditional career to build my own business wasn't simply a professional decision—it was a personal one. It required me to believe in myself before there was any evidence that everything would work out. It meant trusting my vision, embracing uncertainty, and having the courage to build something that aligned with my purpose.
I didn't make that journey alone.
My parents instilled in me the values of integrity, discipline, perseverance, and service from an early age. Their example taught me that success is earned through preparation, consistency, and treating people with respect.
When the opportunity came to pursue entrepreneurship, my husband became one of my greatest sources of encouragement. His unwavering belief in me gave me the confidence to take a leap that felt both exciting and intimidating. During the moments when I questioned myself, he reminded me why I started and encouraged me to keep moving forward.
Removing the Internal Barriers
Looking back, I realize that becoming "uninterrupted" wasn't about eliminating challenges. It was about removing the internal barriers that were keeping me from fully becoming myself.
- The fear of failure.
- The need for approval.
- The belief that I had to have everything figured out before taking the next step.
Those were the interruptions—not my circumstances.
Too often, we allow fear, comparison, and self-doubt to define the boundaries of our potential. We convince ourselves we're too late, not experienced enough, or somehow unqualified to pursue the life we envision.
But what if those thoughts weren't true?
What if the only thing standing between where you are and where you're meant to be is the story you've been telling yourself?
Who Are You?
Imagine introducing yourself without mentioning your job title.
- Without listing your accomplishments.
- Without describing what you do for others.
Who are you?
What values guide your decisions?
What impact do you want to leave on the people around you?
What legacy are you building?
These questions matter because success isn't measured solely by promotions, income, or recognition. Real success is becoming the person you were created to be and using your gifts to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Each of us has a unique purpose that cannot be fulfilled by anyone else.
The world doesn't need another version of someone else's success story.
It needs your authenticity, your voice, your experiences, and your courage.
Your Invitation
So today, I invite you to ask yourself the same question that transformed my perspective:
Who are you, uninterrupted?
- Sit with the question.
- Journal your thoughts.
- Allow yourself to dream without limitations.
- Then take one intentional step toward becoming that woman.
Not the woman others expect you to be.
The woman you know, deep down, you were always meant to become.
Because when you discover who you are uninterrupted, you stop chasing validation and start living with purpose.
And there is no greater success than that.
