Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to confidence, experience, and a strong support system. Entering this career later in life gave me perspective I didn’t have in my twenties, and my family—especially my husband—has always encouraged me to pursue my goals. I also believe in learning as you go; even if you don’t have all the answers at first, persistence and curiosity will get you there.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received came early in my journey to break into data. In a career services class, we discussed how people often label themselves as “aspiring data analysts” on LinkedIn or resumes. The guidance I received was simple but powerful: if you’re doing the work, you are a data analyst—don’t sell yourself short. There’s no need to qualify your title with “aspiring.” Own your role and confidently present yourself as the professional you already are.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women entering this industry not to be intimidated by being the only woman in the room. There have certainly been meetings where I was the only woman present, and while data remains a male-dominated field, that shouldn’t hold you back. Bring your perspective, own your expertise, and don’t let gender ever make you doubt your place at the table.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in tech right now is navigating the rise of AI. The key questions are: how do we work alongside AI effectively, and how do we future-proof our careers to remain relevant in an AI-driven world? I see this both as a challenge and an opportunity to adapt, learn, and grow in new ways.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is the value I hold most closely in both my work and personal life. It means consistently doing high-quality work, even when no one is watching, and ensuring that my actions reflect honesty and accountability at all times.
