Her Interview
Ten minutes with AMARACHUKWU
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to continuous learning, adaptability, self-improvement, and a strong commitment to excellence. Throughout my career, from customer experience specialist to consultant, team lead, and manager, I have embraced every opportunity to learn, take ownership, and deliver results. I believe in challenging existing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and creating more efficient and productive ways of working. For me, success is not just about career progression; it is about growing through every responsibility, adding value, and leaving every role better than I found it.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is simple: learn to listen before you respond. In a profession built around customer relationships, communication, and problem-solving, listening is just as important as having the right answers. I have learned to remain receptive to feedback, approach different perspectives with an open mind, and resist the urge to become defensive. Not every piece of feedback requires justification; sometimes, the greatest opportunity for growth lies in listening, reflecting, and applying what you have learned.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be open-minded, stay curious, and never stop learning. Customer experience and success require resilience, effective communication, collaboration, and the ability to navigate different personalities and expectations. Be willing to put in the work, embrace constructive feedback, and build meaningful relationships with both internal teams and customers. Most importantly, show up for yourself, remain consistent, and never underestimate the value of your contributions. Your growth will be shaped not only by the opportunities you receive but also by the effort, discipline, and determination you bring to them.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Lack of defined structural processes or hierarchical levels for growth in customer service compared to other fields like engineering; opportunity to cross into roles like product manager or COO with additional certifications
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value customer-centricity, integrity, continuous growth, and meaningful impact. Professionally, I believe in adding value, delivering exceptional experiences, and building relationships founded on trust and accountability. Personally, I believe in being content yet ambitious without complacency, remaining grateful while continually striving for growth, and living a life of purpose through service, kindness, and positive contributions to my family, church, and community.
