Being a woman of influence for me means exemplifying a life that others can look at and say, I want to walk like that. Not a life of perfection, but a life of purpose, conviction, integrity and faith. It's about being a positive example. And allowing the way that you live and the choices that you make. And the way you carry yourself to help shape someone else's perspective. This opportunity is especially meaningful to me because I know the work it took for me to get here. I'm grateful to God for where I am today and I don't take this opportunity lightly. For me, influence is using my voice to remind women that their past does not define them. Take the risk. Say yes. Say yes to the opportunities. Trust God through the process even when you can't see the full picture. I want to inspire and motivate others and show them that faith can take you places you never imagined that you could go. I believe an influential woman doesn't just show you where she's been or where she's going. She reaches back and brings others with her. She uses her experiences, her lessons, and her voice to help someone else believe that they can get where they're aiming to go. That to me is influence. Being a guiding light, walking in purpose and faith and becoming the kind of example that makes someone else believe that they can rise to.What's one piece of advice you would give to younger women chasing their dreams?Coach Bulinda Wright : I would say stay focused, stay focused on your dreams, stay focused on your goals. Don't be distracted by what other people are doing. What other people may be trying to tell you to do. Sometimes, people will try to pull us in different directions so that they can live out their dreams through us, right? So my advice to you is to live your own dreams. Reach for your own goals. Be a leader. Be careful who you follow. And know that you can do anything that you set your heart to. Never give up on yourself because we all have the ability to do amazing things. You got this

About Bulinda
Bulinda Wright serves as a ministry leader and certified online life coach through Keep Looking Up with B. Wright-Jones LLC, a role she has held since 2014. She is also a global speaker, podcast host of The Christ-Centered Single Podcast for over five years, author of about nine books, and event planner. Her podcast features Bible study teachings and discussions on topics including mental health, toxic relationships, and Christian dating, reaching women who are single, widowed, divorced, dating, or desiring marriage. She began her event planning and program coordination work with nonprofit organizations including the American Diabetes Association, where she coordinated speaker bureaus and events, the American Cancer Society, where she served as an income development specialist overseeing the southeastern region, and Philabundance. She attributes her success to her faith in God, which sustained her through personal challenges including divorce and health issues in 2023. Coach B emphasizes values of integrity, kindness, empathy, and character in her work and personal life, and she advises others to be themselves, share their truth unapologetically, and take action without fear.

01What do you attribute your success to?
My faith has kept me going even when I didn't want to. When I wanted to give up, I couldn't let go. It was just something in me that said, no, you cannot give up. So I thank God for not giving up on me, and I didn't give up on myself. I give it all to my faith.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Two people hold a particularly meaningful place in Bulinda's journey: her mother, Shirley Wright, and her pastor, Herbert Lusk III. Shirley is more than Bulinda's mother—she is her biggest cheerleader and best friend. Throughout Bulinda's life, her mother has remained steadfastly supportive, offering love, encouragement, and a sense of security that Bulinda deeply treasures. Her pastor, Herbert Lusk III, has played a different but equally important role. Where encouragement is sometimes needed, he provides it; where accountability is necessary, he provides tough love and truth. His influence has helped challenge Bulinda to grow, remain grounded, and continue moving forward. Together, these two relationships have given Bulinda both affirmation and accountability—two forces that have helped shape the woman and leader she is today.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be yourself. Never feel intimidated or feel like your life and your story is not enough. Be yourself, share your truth, and be unapologetic about it. When you're truly being yourself, your people will find you and your message is exactly what they need.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
In 2023 I went into the hospital for two major surgeries but had several complications. I developed blood clots on my lungs. My kidneys began to fail. I didn't know when I went in that I had lymphedema. Because of that being in my legs, I had to be in a wheelchair temporarily. I was also on a walker for some time. Just to still be able to walk, know that I'm so grateful. It could have been worse. My faith sustained me through it.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity is so important to me. I am the same out front and behind closed doors. I'm not gonna be hypocritical. I'm not gonna try to hide anything. I am who I am. Integrity is just being a person of your word. I value people's time. Kindness costs nothing. Valuing people is free, and most importantly your character, and always looking to grow, always look to build your character so that you can always be a light for other people.

Discover Your God-Given Assignment and Walk Boldly in Your Purpose With Confidence, Integrity, and Love

Have you ever felt a stirring in your spirit that you were created for something greater? Perhaps there is a passion that continues to rise within you, an idea that refuses to leave your heart, or an assignment that God has placed before you that requires you to step beyond your comfort zone. That stirring may be an invitation to walk more intentionally in your God-given purpose.
Living out your purpose is not simply about discovering what you are good at or pursuing the things that bring you personal fulfillment. It is about recognizing the gifts, passions, experiences, and assignments God has entrusted to you and choosing to use them to serve others, make a difference, and bring glory to His name.
Purpose is deeply personal, but it is never meant to be lived in isolation. Our assignments often intersect with the lives of others, creating opportunities to encourage, teach, lead, inspire, heal, and serve. When we embrace our purpose with humility and love, our lives become a reflection of something greater than ourselves.
Recognizing the Connection Between Passion and Purpose
Passion can be a powerful indicator of where we are called to make a difference. The things that stir our hearts, the injustices we feel compelled to address, the people we desire to help, and the experiences that have shaped our perspectives may provide insight into the work God is calling us to do.
Sometimes, purpose emerges through our greatest strengths. At other times, it develops through seasons of disappointment, adversity, loss, or personal transformation. The very experiences we once questioned may become part of the testimony we use to encourage someone else.
However, passion alone is not always confirmation of an assignment. We must learn to seek God for wisdom, exercise discernment, and remain willing to follow His direction, even when it differs from our original plans.
Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and acknowledge Him in all our ways, trusting Him to direct our paths.
Walking in purpose requires more than having a vision. It requires a willingness to listen, prepare, grow, and obey. It means allowing God to shape our character as He develops our calling.
We must be careful not to become so focused on what we want to accomplish that we overlook who we are becoming in the process.
Do Not Be Afraid to Walk in Your Purpose Unapologetically
One of the greatest challenges of living out our purpose is the fear of what others may think.
We may question whether we are qualified, whether we are ready, or whether people will understand the vision God has placed in our hearts. We may delay taking the next step because we are waiting for approval, affirmation, or permission from people who were never assigned to validate our calling.
But you cannot allow the fear of being misunderstood to prevent you from being obedient to God.
Walking in your purpose unapologetically does not mean operating with arrogance, disregarding wise counsel, or believing that you are above correction. It means standing confidently in what God has called you to do while remaining humble enough to learn, mature, and be redirected when necessary.
You do not have to diminish your gifts to make others comfortable. You do not have to hide your light because someone else has not discovered theirs. And you do not have to abandon your assignment simply because your journey looks different from someone else's.
There is room for you to fulfill your calling without competing with another person's journey.
Your responsibility is not to imitate someone else's purpose. It is to faithfully steward the one entrusted to you.
Expect Opposition, but Do Not Lose Your Focus
When you begin moving with intention, you may encounter resistance. Some people will misunderstand your vision. Others may question your decisions, criticize your progress, or struggle to celebrate what God is doing in your life.
There may also be internal battles: insecurity, discouragement, comparison, fear, and the temptation to give up when results do not come as quickly as expected.
These moments can become distractions if we allow them to consume our attention.
Not every criticism deserves a response, and not every opinion deserves a place in your decision-making. There is a difference between constructive correction that helps you grow and persistent negativity that attempts to undermine your confidence. Wisdom requires us to discern the difference.
Opposition does not automatically mean that we are on the right path, just as an easy journey does not necessarily mean that we are on the wrong one. We must continue to seek God's direction rather than interpret every circumstance as a sign.
When distractions arise, return to the foundation of your calling. Remember why you started. Revisit the values that guide your decisions. Pray for wisdom, remain teachable, and keep moving forward with integrity.
Nehemiah provides a powerful example of staying focused despite opposition. When faced with attempts to distract him from rebuilding the wall, he remained committed to the work before him. His response in Nehemiah 6:3 captures the determination required to protect an important assignment: he would not come down because he was engaged in a great work.
Sometimes, protecting your purpose means refusing to be pulled into every argument, explanation, or distraction. You can acknowledge that opposition exists without allowing it to determine the direction of your life.
Stay focused on the work God has placed in your hands.
Keep Your Hands Clean and Your Heart Pure
As important as it is to pursue our purpose, how we pursue it matters just as much.
We can become so eager to reach our destination that we overlook the importance of our character along the way. We may be tempted to compromise our values, respond to disrespect with bitterness, compete out of insecurity, or use unhealthy methods to achieve otherwise meaningful goals.
But purpose without integrity can undermine the very impact we desire to make.
Keeping our hands clean means conducting ourselves with honesty, accountability, and integrity. It means refusing to manipulate others, take credit for someone else's work, or sacrifice our convictions for recognition.
Keeping our hearts pure means examining our motives. Are we serving because we genuinely want to make a difference, or are we seeking applause? Are we moving in love, or are we allowing resentment and the desire to prove someone wrong to drive us?
These are important questions because our assignments are not only about what we accomplish. They are also about the character we demonstrate while accomplishing them.
First Peter 3:16 encourages believers to maintain a clear conscience and conduct themselves in a way that reflects their faith.
We will not always get everything right. We are human, and growth requires humility. When we make mistakes, we must be willing to acknowledge them, make amends where necessary, and allow God to continue refining us.
Our goal should never be to appear perfect. It should be to live with integrity, pursue righteousness, and remain accountable for our actions.
Walk Out Your Purpose in Love
Love must remain at the center of our purpose.
Whether we are leading a business, serving in ministry, raising a family, coaching others, writing books, speaking on platforms, or working quietly behind the scenes, our lives should reflect the love of Christ.
Purpose is not a competition. It is an opportunity to serve.
We can be confident without being condescending, bold without being harsh, and ambitious without being envious. We can celebrate the success of others while remaining committed to our own assignments. We can set boundaries without harboring bitterness and speak the truth without intentionally wounding people.
Walking in love does not mean tolerating mistreatment or abandoning healthy boundaries. It means choosing to conduct ourselves in a manner that honors God, even when others do not respond to us in the same spirit.
First Corinthians 16:14 offers a simple but powerful instruction: "Let all that you do be done in love."
Imagine the difference we could make if we approached our purpose with this principle at the forefront. Our leadership would be more compassionate. Our relationships would be healthier. Our influence would be more meaningful. And the people we encounter would experience not only our gifts but also the heart behind them.
We are not called merely to be successful. We are called to be faithful.
Trust God With the Process and the Destination
One of the most difficult parts of living out your purpose is accepting that the journey may not unfold according to your timeline.
There will be seasons when progress seems slow, doors appear to close, and the next step is not immediately clear. You may wonder whether your efforts are making a difference or whether you misunderstood the assignment altogether.
Do not mistake a season of preparation for a season of failure.
Growth often takes place before recognition arrives. Character is developed in private before it is tested in public. Wisdom is gained through experiences that may not make sense until we look back and recognize what they taught us.
Remain faithful in the small things. Continue developing your gifts. Seek wise counsel. Strengthen your relationship with God. Take practical steps toward the vision you have been given, and be willing to adjust your approach when new understanding emerges.
Trusting God does not mean sitting still and expecting everything to happen without effort. It means taking responsibility for the steps within your control while surrendering the outcome to Him.
We may not know every detail of the journey, but we can continue walking in faith, knowing that our worth is not determined by the speed of our progress, the number of people who support us, or the recognition we receive.
Our destination is not simply a title, a platform, a business, or a personal milestone. The greater goal is to live a life that reflects God's love, demonstrates faithfulness, and makes a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
And when opportunities arise, doors open, and our efforts bear fruit, we must remember where our strength comes from and who deserves the glory.
Your Purpose Is Worth the Courage It Requires
To every woman who knows there is more within her, who feels called to serve, lead, create, speak, write, teach, build, or encourage: do not allow fear to make decisions that faith is calling you to confront.
You do not have to have every answer before you begin. You do not have to be everyone's choice to fulfill your assignment. And you do not have to wait until you feel completely confident to take the next faithful step.
Start where you are. Use what you have. Develop what God has placed within you. Remain open to correction, committed to growth, and grounded in prayer.
When the naysayers speak, do not let their voices become louder than your commitment to God's direction. When distractions come, return to your assignment. When challenges arise, allow them to strengthen your dependence on God rather than diminish your faith.
Keep your hands clean. Keep your heart pure. Walk in love. Protect your peace. Exercise discernment. And remain faithful to the work entrusted to you.
Your purpose is not something you need to apologize for. It is something you must steward responsibly.
Ultimately, the greatest measure of a purposeful life is not how many people know your name, how many accolades you receive, or how impressive your accomplishments appear to the world. It is whether you have faithfully used what God entrusted to you to serve others and bring Him glory.
May we have the courage to answer the call, the wisdom to navigate the journey, the humility to keep growing, and the faith to trust God with the results.
Walk boldly. Love deeply. Live intentionally. And never allow the fear of opposition to convince you to abandon the purpose God has placed within you.
When we keep our eyes on the Lord and remain faithful to our assignments, we can move forward with confidence, trusting Him to guide our steps and receive the glory from our lives.
