Cinnamon Burdett: Stop waiting for permission to do it.

What does being an Influential Woman mean to you?

Cinnamon Burdett: So what does being an influential woman mean to me? Quite simply, I get to use my own voice in my own healing words. I get to help women stop shrinking themselves so they fit in. It's about standing in your truth when it may cost you everything. I had to walk away from my old community. Influence is not about being perfect yet. It's about bringing awareness so we can talk openly about shame, pleasure, the body, so other women can feel less alone and more empowered in their own lives.

What's one piece of advice you would give to younger women chasing their dreams?

Cinnamon Burdett: What's one piece of advice I would give to young women chasing their dream? Stop waiting for permission to do it. Go do your dream. It's going to require you to get uncomfortable. It's gonna get messy. Build that life that you want. There's gonna be people that may eject and it's OK because this is going to be your life, and if it's what you want, then yeah, people can give input, but it's really up to you at the end of the day what you want to do with this. You don't have to ask permission. Go live your life.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Cinnamon

01What do you attribute your success to?

She attributes her success to the unwavering support and partnership of her husband, who has been a constant presence throughout her journey. His steadfast encouragement through periods of trauma, healing, and personal rebuilding has provided a foundation of stability that allowed her to grow both personally and professionally. She also recognizes that this enduring support has played a meaningful role in her resilience, perspective, and ability to help others navigate their own paths toward healing and connection.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice she has ever received is to “keep going.” This simple but powerful guidance reflects the importance of resilience, consistency, and perseverance through challenges. It serves as a reminder to remain committed to personal and professional growth, even during periods of uncertainty, and to trust the process of continuous progress over time.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice she would give to young women entering her industry is that while the field can be challenging, persistence and commitment make a meaningful difference over time. She emphasizes that success in this space requires patience, resilience, and a willingness to continue learning and growing through obstacles. By staying focused and consistent, those who remain dedicated will find their path forward and build a fulfilling and impactful career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge she identifies in her field is working within the limitations and cultural constraints of her home state, where conversations around sexual wellness and intimacy can sometimes be more restricted. However, she views this as an opportunity for growth, as it strengthens her commitment to education and advocacy, and through telehealth she is able to expand her reach nationwide, providing accessible, trauma-informed coaching and support to individuals and couples regardless of location.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important value in her work and personal life is perseverance embodied in her belief to “keep going,” even when life is difficult. She emphasizes resilience, emotional strength, and commitment through challenges, viewing hardship as part of the growth process rather than a barrier. This mindset guides both her personal journey and her professional practice, allowing her to show up consistently with compassion, stability, and purpose.
