About Elizabeth
Elizabeth Evans is a Professor Emeritus, a child and family advocate, published author, and motivational speaker with more than five decades of experience dedicated to Early Childhood Education, parenting, and community service as an activist. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech from University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from University of Southern California, where her graduate research explored a Montessori sensory-motor approach to language development among disadvantaged children. Her lifelong commitment has centered on supporting children’s growth, strengthening families, and preparing educators to create positive learning environments.

Elizabeth has spent more than 30 years employed with the Los Angeles Community College District, where she served as Professor and Chair of the Child Development Department. During her tenure, she taught and mentored thousands of students pursuing careers in education, guided future teachers, and supported parents through community-based initiatives, including programs assisting single mothers. Earlier in her career, she worked as a preschool teacher in an ECE Program, a vice principal in the Private School sector, and master teacher within the Los Angeles Unified School District. Beth, as she is known to her students, main goal for her students was always to build a strong foundation in classroom instruction, curriculum development, and interpersonal skills with the children and parents that they would ultimately be in service to. Mentoring teachers is a heart space for Beth.
Elizabeth has been instrumental in establishing mentoring initiatives for teachers in California. Following her retirement from academia, she continues her mission as a writer, blogger, advocate, and inspirational speaker. She has authored and self-published books, produces daily reflections and advocacy content through her writing platforms, and has shared her insights at conferences and international forums, including invitations to the Oxford Round Table. Her work focuses on child advocacy, family empowerment, personal growth, and creating a more compassionate world for future generations. 01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my family. They have always shown up for me, offering both encouragement and honest feedback. Their willingness to provide thoughtful critiques and challenge me to improve has helped me grow personally and professionally. Having a support system that is both honest and invested in my success has been invaluable. There is no way that I could have published my books, “Embracing the Gift of Parenthood-How to Create a Loving Relationship with your Children”, “The Global Covenant to Protect the Sacred Lives of Children” and soon to be published book, “The Global Covenant to Protect the Sacred Lives of Children in a World of Technology and Ai”.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received is to pursue what I am passionate about and to bring authenticity into everything I do. When you align your work with your passions, you are more motivated, engaged, and able to create meaningful impact.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to understand that this is a career you have to feel called to pursue. It is not simply a job where you show up each day—it requires dedication, compassion, and a genuine commitment to making a difference. While it may not always be a field driven by financial rewards, it is one that can provide deep fulfillment and the opportunity to positively impact the lives of others.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field right now include the lack of adequate financial support for school systems and the need to modernize educational approaches. Many classrooms are still influenced by teaching models from the 1940s and 1950s, creating a need for innovation and more effective learning strategies. Teacher training and professional development also remain critical areas for improvement, as does strengthening communication and collaboration between families and schools to better support student success.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are authenticity, integrity, morality, and an unconditional love for humanity. I believe in showing up as my true self, acting with honesty and strong principles, and treating others with compassion, respect, and empathy. These values guide the way I connect with people and the impact I strive to make every day.

The Sacred Space for Transformative Agreements-
I am quietly yet intentionally observing the rising up of women in all areas of our society. I don’t think people realize and are aware of what has been happening as women infiltrate the spaces that are usually saved for and run by men. It amuses me because even though I know it was no small thing for we as women to be able to hold positions of power and influence, it seems from the outside looking in, that it has just happened effortlessly and almost in a rather magical way.
No big recognition and celebrative acknowledgment, just a lot of behind-the-scenes preparation, strategic planning, and their genius at work. It is so rewarding and inspiring to witness this mobility and accomplishments of women not just sitting at the “Table” or demolishing the “Sacred Ceiling” but are actually positioned in places and spaces that impact our lives on a local, national, and global level.
They bring that uniqueness of their carefully crafted divine gifts to usher into a situation or challenge a perspective that is more deeply in tune to the laws of the universe, and if they have really done the work that they were ordained to do, they bring in a spiritual essence of compromise, compassion, openness to being an “active listener”, and hopefully, sense of humility -not to be confused with a lack of self-esteem and self-love, but just to the point where it allows others to feel that their contributions are worthy of being considered.
It is truthfully a balancing act that when done authentically and in earnest, has the potential of healing situations that might otherwise seem hopeless. I am by no means making a blanket statement that all women fall into this category. It takes a lot of work to come into the purpose for which you are divined to be. It starts with an awakening to who you are in the eyes of “Great Spirit” and takes a recommitment to be the “YOU” that you were designed to be and then a willingness to step into the footsteps of your ancestors. It is from that position that we continue to evolve and create the path for our future generations to build upon.
We were meant to be guided and mentored on this path to bring to light not just the potential of who women can be and what women can do to enhance the nature and behavior of our lost and misdirected humanity, but we are in fact "answering a 'Call to Action', that "Great Spirit" is moving in us to fulfill the original design of how humanity should function. "Great Spirit" is awakening our memory.
We need each other and we need time and space to support each other. I am proposing that women all over the world start in their families and communities “Women Sacred Circles” where women that are seeking to be in alignment with their own divined life’s purpose and “Great Spirit’s intention for our lives, come together to formulate “Transformative Agreements” that speak to how we can nurture ourselves so that we might nurture and support in each other.
I would like to challenge the women in these sacred circles to commune on issues we are facing in their families, communities, their country, and globally and connect the dots as to how the issues that are plaguing us as individuals and as a collective humanity. These are challenges that have answers if we but work together in harmony and in alignment with not just each other, but in alignment and in connection with “Great Spirit” who sees all, hears all, and knows all.
This is how the healing will begin, and we will evolve as a humanity that is grounded in being our highest selves. WE are walking in the footsteps of our ancestors, and we are fearlessly fearless. We know that we are loved and protected by them. Move in grace and beauty with the genius of your spirit and what can be accomplished is beyond our imagination.
We know that there is a united energy that is trying to silence us and remove us from positions where we are needed, but as the Negro Spiritual says,
"WE Shall Not Be Moved,
We Shall Not Be Moved,
Just like a tree that's planted by the waters,
We Shall Not Be Moved"!
So, breathe deeply! Close your eyes and visualize something that brings you back into homeostasis with your soul expression. May today bring you a sense of peace, joy, and moments of feeling loved and validated for who you are and what you are gifting our humanity.
