About Evelyn
Evelyn Talatala Clough is a telecommunications executive and Vice President of Network Operations at Bluebird Fiber, where she leads the operational performance, reliability, and scalability of the company’s expanding fiber network. With approximately three decades of experience spanning telecommunications, network operations, service assurance, engineering, and operational transformation, she has built and transformed large-scale operations organizations across complex technology environments. Her career includes senior leadership roles with Bluebird Fiber, SBA Communications, Ericsson, OneWeb, and Comcast, where she has led network operations, transformation initiatives, customer service improvements, and large technical teams.
An accomplished engineering leader, Clough earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering from the University of the East in the Philippines and later completed the Strategic Leadership Program at The Wharton School. Throughout her career, she has distinguished herself through process optimization, automation, AIOps, network reliability, NOC transformation, and data-driven operational management. At SBA Communications, she established the company’s first 24/7/365 Network Operations Center, brought outsourced NOC operations in-house to achieve significant cost savings, and implemented operational improvements that reduced dispatches while strengthening service levels. At Ericsson, she led network transformation initiatives that improved quality, productivity, and construction efficiency across North America.
Beyond her executive responsibilities, Clough is passionate about mentorship, community engagement, and creating opportunities for women and diverse leaders in technology. Her leadership philosophy centers on ownership, accountability, continuous learning, and empowering teams to take responsibility for outcomes. She has served as a DEI ambassador and ERG leader, spoken at events focused on women in technology and Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, and earned the title of Mrs. Tourism World 2023. Originally from the Philippines, Clough brings the values of hard work, resilience, integrity, compassion, faith, and bayanihan—teamwork—to her leadership. She continues to advocate for women in technology while building scalable network organizations designed to deliver reliable connectivity and exceptional customer experiences.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to hard work, determination, resilience, and refusing to give up on my goals. I am highly goal-oriented and believe in leading by example. I also make a point of continually learning, pursuing new ideas and solutions, and investing in my own professional development. Most importantly, I strive to make a meaningful difference every day.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to surround myself with positive people, embrace challenges because they are opportunities to learn, and remain resilient no matter what circumstances I encounter.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is simple: the more you know, the more you grow. Continue learning, build your expertise, and never allow intimidation to diminish your confidence. Know your worth, stand tall and be proud of what you bring to the table. Your knowledge, preparation, and willingness to speak up can create opportunities even in highly competitive environments.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The telecommunications industry presents significant opportunities through continued network expansion, fiber infrastructure development, automation, artificial intelligence, and the transformation of network operations. My experience has shown me that organizations that effectively combine people, process, and technology can build more resilient and scalable operations while improving customer experience. The rapid pace of technological change also creates a continuous need for organizations and leaders to adapt and learn.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, honesty, transparency, kindness, and service are central to my values. I believe in reaching out to help others, standing up for what I believe in, and treating people with respect and compassion. I also believe strongly in accountability, teamwork, and creating an environment where people feel trusted, valued, and empowered to succeed.
