Her Story

About Fabiola

Fabiola Gonzalez Corona is a Project Planner and Executive Assistant to the CEO at HardRok Equipment Inc., a company serving the mining and aggregates industries by supplying parts and equipment for mining operations and concrete plants. With a background in construction and a growing foundation of experience in the mining industry, Fabiola is committed to expanding her knowledge, strengthening her professional skills, and building a meaningful career in traditionally male-dominated field.

She launched her career in the construction equipment industry in October 2018 as an Inventory Assistant, rapidly advancing within six months to Purchasing and Inventory Controller across all five locations. Recognizing a gap in formal documentation, she independently authored comprehensive SOPs to streamline inventory processes and establish a structured onboarding foundation for future hires. By 2021, she was promoted into Management, expanding her scope to oversee the Logistics Department while continuing to lead inventory control and procurement operations enterprise-wide.

She values learning from experienced professionals, welcoming constructive feedback, and embracing every opportunity to grow.

Fabiola’s determination, work ethic, and drive to succeed are deeply rooted in the sacrifices her parents made for their family. Having worked as field laborers, her parents encouraged their children to pursue stable careers and create better opportunities for themselves. Her father later transitioned into the construction industry, where he has built a career spanning more than 30 years. Their hard work and perseverance continue to inspire Fabiola to push beyond her comfort zone, pursue personal and professional growth, and make the most of the opportunities before her.

As a woman working in a male-dominated industry, Fabiola hopes to encourage other women, especially those just beginning their careers in mining and construction, to believe in themselves, remain persistent, and never stop learning. She believes that success comes from being willing to listen, learn from others, accept challenges, and demonstrate value through dedication, accountability, and hard work. For her, professional growth is an ongoing journey built on humility, resilience, and the willingness to improve every day.

Outside of work, Fabiola prioritizes her personal well-being through exercise and self-care, recognizing the importance of maintaining balance and investing in herself. She believes that personal growth extends beyond professional accomplishments and includes caring for her physical and mental well-being.

Fabiola is also passionate about giving back to her community, particularly through her involvement with Wreaths Across America, a nationwide initiative dedicated to remembering fallen veterans by placing wreaths on their graves each December. Her connection to this mission is especially personal, as her brother, a Veteran, is buried at her local Galt-Arno Cemetery. This connection has strengthened her commitment to honoring those who served our country and ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten. Through raising awareness, distributing information, encouraging sponsorships, and promoting community participation, she helps support the annual effort to honor close to 750 veterans at the cemetery.

Through her professional dedication, commitment to continuous learning, advocacy for women in mining and construction, and passion for community service, Fabiola strives to make a positive and lasting impact. Guided by the values instilled in her by her parents, she believes that perseverance, compassion, and a willingness to serve others are essential not only to building a successful career but also to becoming a person who makes a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Fabiola

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my parents, whose sacrifices, hard work, and determination have inspired me to pursue a better future. Having worked as field laborers, they instilled in me the value of perseverance, dedication, and the importance of creating opportunities for myself. They encouraged me to pursue a stable career and build a life that would provide greater opportunities and security.

My father’s experience in the construction industry, spanning well over 30 years, has been especially meaningful to my professional journey. His knowledge, experience, and firsthand understanding of the industry have given us an even stronger bond, allowing me to learn from his experiences while gaining a deeper appreciation for the work and dedication that go into this field. Being able to share conversations about the industry and learn from his perspective is something I truly value.

My parents’ sacrifices continue to motivate me to work hard, embrace challenges, and never stop learning. As I continue to grow in the mining and construction industries, I carry their lessons with me, reminding myself that success is not just about how far I go, but also about honoring the sacrifices, values, and support that helped me get here.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to believe in themselves, stay determined, and never give up on their dreams. Always strive to give your best, remain open to learning, and seek guidance from those who are willing to share their knowledge and experience. Embrace constructive criticism as an opportunity for growth, and never let challenges or other people’s doubts discourage you from pursuing your goals. Show others that you belong and have earned your position through your hard work, dedication, professionalism, and passion for what you do. Let your actions and achievements speak for themselves. Prove to anyone that's doubted & yourself that you are capable of overcoming obstacles and achieving great things. Remember that your potential is not defined by other people’s opinions, but by your determination, resilience, and willingness to keep growing.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, humility, respect, compassion, and a commitment to lifelong learning. I strive to live by the morals and principles my parents instilled in me, never forgetting where I started, the challenges I have overcome, or the hard work and determination that have brought me to where I am today. No matter how far I go in my career, I never want to lose my humility, my drive to learn and teach others, or my appreciation for the journey that has shaped me.

I also believe it is important to remember that we never truly know what someone may be going through in their personal life. Because of this, I make a conscious effort to treat others with kindness, patience, and understanding. Throughout my career, I have learned that the way we make people feel matters just as much as the work we do. I want to be part of the reason people enjoy coming to work, feel valued, and know that their contributions matter.

Above all, I believe in treating everyone with the same level of dignity and respect, regardless of their position or title. Whether someone is part of the janitorial team or the CEO of the company, they deserve the same courtesy, consideration, and respect. To me, true leadership is not defined by a job title, but by character, how we treat others, and the positive impact we leave on the people around us.
