Her Story
About Felicia
I am a Client Service Manager with Specialty Rx Pharmacy, where I manage 12 nursing home facilities. I have worked in healthcare since 2001, with experience in psychiatry, mental health, primary care, and now pharmacy services. In my current role, I serve as the liaison between the pharmacy and nursing homes, helping ensure quality care is delivered and that residents, nurses, DONs, and facility staff receive the support they need.
I enjoy being able to problem-solve, support my facilities, and help maintain strong relationships between the pharmacy and healthcare teams. One of the things I appreciate most about Specialty Rx is the company’s commitment to providing the best possible care and medication service.
With the Lord, my Pastor and his wife, along with my parents, I have been able to grow both personally and professionally throughout my journey in healthcare. Their guidance, encouragement, and support have helped shape the person and leader I am today.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I contribute my success to my faith in the Lord, the guidance and encouragement of my Pastor and his wife through out the years, and the love and support of my parents. Their wisdom, prayers, and belief in me have helped me stay grounded, work hard, and continue growing both personally and professionally throughout my healthcare journey.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have received is to always lead with compassion, stay humble, and treat people the way you would want to be treated. In healthcare, every role matters, and building strong relationships, communicating effectively, and being willing to help others can make all the difference. I’ve also learned that challenges will come, but staying positive, dependable, and solution-focused will help you continue to grow both personally and professionally.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The best career advice I have received is to make sure you are truly happy in your career. When you are happy with what you do, it shows in your work, the way you treat people, and the effort you give every day. I believe when you love your job, you naturally go the extra mile and positively touch other people’s lives.
Working in healthcare has also taught me the importance of taking care of yourself. You have to make sure you are caring for yourself first so you can properly care for and support others. Throughout my different roles in healthcare, I’ve learned that happiness and passion for what you do bring out the best in you, both personally and professionally.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is making sure healthcare facilities receive medications accurately and on time while also managing communication between the pharmacy, nurses, DONs, and facility staff. In healthcare, things can change quickly, so being able to problem-solve, respond to urgent situations, and keep everyone informed is very important.
Another challenge is making sure healthcare workers are supported, because many people in the field are balancing heavy workloads and long hours. That is why strong communication, teamwork, and compassion are so important. Even with the challenges, I enjoy being able to help facilities, support residents, and make a positive difference in patient care every day.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are faith, compassion, integrity, and treating people with respect. I believe in always helping others, being dependable, and doing my best in everything I do. In healthcare especially, compassion and communication are very important because the work we do directly impacts people’s lives.
I also value happiness, balance, and taking care of yourself while caring for others. My faith, family, fiancé, and support system have taught me to stay humble, work hard, and always lead with kindness and understanding.
