Her Story

About Ginger

I started out acting in musical theater and was a dancer as well at one point, and moved into the TV and film world after that. I worked off-Broadway and Broadway national tours, performing, and in TV and commercials. I was also a drummer at one point in a male rock band that toured. When I took a break from all of that, I became a movement therapist, a physical therapy aide - I made up my own kind of title in movement therapy. I was a personal trainer at that time as well. Then I went back to performing, and I started a production company after I co-produced two films with a friend of mine who is a director and a writer as well. Now I am the owner of a small indie production company that makes short films so far, and I'm looking to make my first feature this year. I just returned from the European film market in Berlin, and a side trip to London, because my feature film that I am trying to get made takes place in the UK. I have been on calls with the UK almost every morning, meeting with different production houses to find a co-producer and director, so that I can move forward with that film. I would say my most notable achievement is being a fairly well-rounded entertainer, performer, and being able to wear a lot of different hats in the entertainment industry.

Ten minutes with Ginger

01What do you attribute your success to?

Not giving up. Hard work. But mostly, you know, tenacity and just putting yourself out there, right? Being bold and taking chances.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

I would say to make sure that you live your life, and you have a personal life outside of work. That's really important, because I think a lot of people in entertainment get caught up in the work, because you have to work really hard, and sometimes spend a lot of money to make money, and it's just very consuming. I would say just having a well-rounded home life as well, whatever that is, you know, just having something outside of what you do professionally is important.
