Her Story
About Ginger
With 30 years of experience in the beauty industry, I have worked through every single aspect of beauty - from retail to R&D to manufacturing to product development to marketing. I know the whole 360 in the industry. A lot of people work in one specific aspect of beauty and do not see the whole picture, especially when somebody wants to start their own beauty brand. They really have to have every piece together, and I am the bridge to help every single piece link together. That's why I have Grace Kingdom Beauty. Grace Kingdom Beauty is not only a cosmetic product development consulting firm where I help founders from concept to launch, I also have added business programs. What I found out is, a lot of times when I give them the product, they do not know how to do sales and marketing, so I added business coaching and I also added AI marketing. So it's a complete service. What makes my company different from other beauty companies is that a lot of the beauty company is still very one-sided. If they do marketing, they don't understand R&D. On the R&D side of things, they do formulation, they don't understand business. I combine everything together so it's one smooth operation.

Ten minutes with Ginger
01What do you attribute your success to?
I invest in myself constantly to learn from best of the best. My real mentor actually came from Damon John on Shark Tank. I didn't know who he was, and I kind of follow him, and he's the one that really ignited my entrepreneurship spirit. Now I call him my best friend forever. I study with Grant Cardone on sales and marketing. I study speaking with Jane Gottlieb, I study AI with Billie G. I kept evolving myself - I added AI to myself. I think AI will be a huge aspect for anybody's business. I also love what I am doing. If you love what you are doing and you are making money, you'll be very happy. I never experience burnout because if you love what you are doing, you never experience burnout.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Just do it. A lot of people, they just hesitate, they're waiting for the perfect moment. They're waiting for an investor. No, I mean, even when the investor sees you, they need your receipt, they need to know what have you done? Are you investable? So you just have to do something to prove yourself, because no investor's gonna give their money for your tuition. You just have to do it. Also, think about consumer needs first, before what's trending. The beauty industry is very noisy and there is no appreciation anymore because of TikTok and Instagram. It's whatever's trending, and people just want to follow. However, the trends don't really last. And if you're wanting to create a beauty brand just because of the trends, by the time you launch, it's already too late.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The beauty industry is very noisy. There is no appreciation anymore, because it's very, like, because of the TikTok, because of the Instagram, it's whatever's trending, and people just want to follow. However, the trends don't really last. And if you're wanting to create a beauty brand just because of the trends, by the time you launch, it's already too late. So I'd rather you think about consumer needs first, before what's trending.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I enjoy doing my work. My work is my hobby. If you love what you are doing, you never experience burnout. But there is a distinction between love what you are doing and also making money, because if you love what you are doing and you are making money, you'll be very happy. If you love what you are doing, but what you are doing will not make you happy, you'll be very miserable. I kept evolving myself. I invest in myself constantly to learn from best of the best.
