Her Story
About Janet
I always knew that I wanted to be in the mental health field and support other individuals through their own life experiences. I had my own struggles, and those struggles encouraged me to support others through their struggles. When I sought my own therapy, I found it to be very enlightening and very helpful, so I just wanted to be that level of support for others. I started that track around college and continued to pursue it until I completed my master's and all my clinical hours. Before entering the mental health field, I worked in random areas including the medical field and as an executive assistant. Today, my main area of expertise is trauma therapy. In my role, there's the clinical part of the work where I see clients, I supervise and mentor clinicians that are new to the field through supervision meetings, and there's the administrative component of completing all my patient documentation and following up on their treatment goals. I really enjoy teaching and learning, and one of my most rewarding experiences was when I conducted a training on a specific type of psychotherapy and had over a thousand attendees throughout the country.
