Her Story

About Jennifer

I'm the founder of JP Growth Solutions, which I started about 8 months ago after 15 years at HP in big tech. I come from a strategic communications background where I was doing internal communications for HP and supporting a lot of the big programs internally. I have a real eye for clarity with messaging, and I'm bringing that to my own brand now. My most recent role at HP was being part of a program called Work of the Future, where we were upskilling over 8,000 employees worldwide in skills of the future like AI and automation, data storytelling, and change management. I did all of the program communications, explaining to employees to take the time to invest in their personal professional development. I was finding modern ways of connecting with employees and sharing success stories from others who had gone through the program. It was cool to be part of that and to feel like I was leading that whole movement of digital transformation for so much of the company. That's what inspired me - other places would benefit from this too. I saw a great opportunity to bring my skills to growing businesses, specifically in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. I've always wanted to help startups and smaller growing businesses, and I see there's a big gap with digital transformation. Having spent so much time in big tech at the forefront of it, I realized people are years behind, and I really wanted to bring that to those growing places. I'm spending time working through what I stand for and what I believe, and it's been such a beautiful journey rediscovering myself. I'm building my network mostly through LinkedIn, and I've started going to industry-related meetups to get to know local people in the AEC industry. It's been a really exciting journey branching out of technology into this brand new industry, and everyone's been so wonderful and very warm and welcoming.

Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the ability to translate complex transformation into human terms. At HP, I wasn't just talking about AI or automation; I was helping 8,000 people understand how those tools could change their lives for the better. Success, for me, comes from combining that big-picture strategic 'lens' with the empathy required to lead people through change. I’ve found that when you focus on clarity of messaging and building genuine relationships, the technical buy-in follows naturally.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I received was to become a lifelong learner. In my 15 years at HP, the only constant was evolution. Embracing the discomfort of not knowing a new technology—and then mastering it—is what kept me relevant. It’s what gave me the confidence to leave a legacy tech giant and start JP Growth Solutions. If you are always willing to upskill, you will never be obsolete. Stay curious, my friends.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Make your own seat at the table. Don't wait for a seat to open up, don't wait for that invitation. Sometimes we have to just put on our big girl pants and get out there. Believe in yourself - everyone has valuable skills, a unique perspective on things that no one else has. I think holding onto that, knowing you can pull up a seat at any table, that's a really powerful thing I wish someone had told me a long time ago. Women can show in workplaces that we can bring our feminine side, our ability to build relationships, and show that that is complementary to what men bring. In a mostly male environment, finding other women who are there, we connected and supported each other - there's a real community, you just have to look for each other.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The AEC industry is at a fascinating crossroads. The biggest challenge is the digital gap — that many growing firms are still anchored to manual processes while the world moves toward AI and data-driven storytelling. However, that challenge is exactly where the opportunity lies. There is a massive opening for these firms to leapfrog their competition by adopting the automation and digital transformation strategies that big tech has already perfected. We aren't just changing software; we’re changing the culture of how work gets done.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

At the core of everything I do are the values of Stewardship and Clarity, rooted deeply in my Catholic faith. I view the Holy Spirit as my ultimate business partner; I lean on that divine guidance to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship and to ensure I am serving my clients with integrity.

In my personal life, my greatest vocation is being a wife to a wonderful man and a mother to two incredible boys. They are my why. They remind me daily that success isn't just about efficiency or digital transformation—it’s about building a legacy of character and showing up for the people who matter most. Whether I am architecting a revenue system or sitting at the dinner table, I strive to bring a feminine strength that balances professional excellence with the warmth of human connection.
