Carper is known for a mission-driven, people-first leadership style that emphasizes accountability, structure, and person-centered care. She is deeply engaged in community and industry partnerships through regional centers, chamber of commerce involvement, and advocacy for aging and disability services. Her Interview

Ten minutes with Jennifer

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to starting from the ground up and gaining a deep understanding of all aspects of operations firsthand. This foundation gave me a deep understanding of what it takes to lead effectively and make decisions that truly impact both teams and the people we serve. I've built my career in consistency, accountability and leading by example. I believe in creating strong, dependable teams and a culture where people feel supported, challenged, and valued. at the end of the day, staying focused on people and purpose has been the foundation of my growth.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received was from a supervisor who encouraged me to invest in myself before expecting others to invest in me. They encouraged me to finish my degree while balancing work and family. It reinforced the value of continuous growth, discipline, and long-term thinking. It taught me that the sacrifices you make today create the opportunities you step into tomorrow.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would advise young women entering my industry to lead with passion and a clear sense of purpose, trust their voice, and not wait to be invited into leadership—step into it. Commit to continuous learning across all areas, because knowledge builds confidence and power. Growth comes from taking ownership, doing the hard work, and staying consistent even on difficult days. Over time, confidence is built through action, and you’ll be surprised by how far you can go when you keep showing up and trusting yourself.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge in our field right now is balancing rapid growth with workforce capacity and operational excellence. Demand for home-based care continues to rise, but finding, retaining, and developing strong caregivers and clinicians remains a constant pressure. At the same time, increasing regulatory requirements and rising labor costs are forcing organizations to be more disciplined and strategic in how they operate. Leaders are being challenged to deliver high-quality care while maintaining financial sustainability. The opportunity within that is building scalable systems, investing in people, and strengthening community partnerships. While still preserving the human, personalized care that defines the industry. The organizations that get the balance right will lead the future.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, accountability, compassion and a deep commitment to people. I believe in doing what is right, even when it's difficult, and creating an environment where people feel supported and respected. Leading with accountability and compassion allows me to build a strong, dependable teams while ensuring the care we deliver always remains personal and meaningful. At the core of everything I do is a focus on people and purpose. When those two stay aligned, the outcome follows.
