Her Story
About Jui
I am at an exciting and intentional turning point in my journey. After building my career as a Tax Consultant in India, I made a decision to pivot into data analytics and business intelligence, a field I have grown to love deeply. For the past two years, I have been pursuing my Master's in Business Analytics at USC Marshall, and I will be graduating this May.
My work lives at the intersection of business and data. I help clients make sense of the information they already have by transforming complex datasets into clear, visual stories using tools like Power BI & SQL. Whether it is sales figures, processes, or raw documents, I take what can feel overwhelming and turn it into something actionable and accessible.
My proudest professional achievement so far has been building a comprehensive report entirely from the ground up for a client organization. I was involved at every stage, from writing the business requirements and the underlying logic to testing, validation, and finally pushing it to production. That report is now used across many of our clients, and knowing that my work is making someone's day a little easier and clearer is exactly why I do what I do.
I will be honest: I am still in the midst of this transition, actively learning and actively seeking opportunities. But if my journey has taught me anything, it is that the willingness to start over, stay curious, and trust the process is a strength in itself.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Jui
01What do you attribute your success to?
My friends are my greatest driving force. They've stood by me through every high and low, and more importantly, they've always seen my potential, even in the moments I couldn't see it myself. Their unwavering belief in me gave me the courage to take risks, pivot my career, and pursue goals I once thought were out of reach. I wouldn't be where I am without them.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
When I was pivoting from finance into data analytics, self-doubt was my biggest obstacle. Someone close to me shared a piece of advice that has never left me: when you start something new, it always feels overwhelming, but as you learn a little more each day, something quietly shifts. You begin to realize that you truly know something, sometimes even better than those around you, and that realization fills you with a confidence that is entirely your own. Pair that with genuine curiosity, and there is no ceiling to how far you can go. That one conversation gave me the courage to bet on myself, leap into a completely new field, and never look back.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My biggest advice is simple: trust yourself and take the plunge. Self-doubt is the heaviest thing you can carry, and most of the time, it is the only thing standing between you and where you want to be. With time and dedication, you will not only get better, you will start to truly enjoy the journey. And that enjoyment matters. Do not enter a field simply because you feel like you are supposed to. Find what genuinely excites you, because when there is real passion behind your work, everything changes. The hard days feel lighter, the challenges feel worth it, and life itself becomes richer. Passion is not just a nice to have. It is what makes the difference between a career and a calling.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest shifts happening in data analytics right now is the rise of AI, and it brings with it both enormous opportunity and very real overwhelm. Many of the tools and processes that were once foundational to the field are evolving faster than ever, and for anyone trying to enter this space, it can feel like you are trying to hit a moving target. Do you learn the fundamentals first? Do you dive straight into understanding how AI is reshaping those very fundamentals? It is a lot to navigate all at once. But I think that tension is also where the opportunity lives. The people who will thrive in this field are the ones who stay curious, embrace the uncertainty, and understand that learning never really stops. AI is not the end of a career in data; it is an invitation to evolve alongside it.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The value that runs through every part of my life, both personally and professionally, is this: never let down the people who believe in you. Whether it is my friends, my family, or my clients, the people who invest in me deserve to see that investment reflected back in how I show up for them. If I can make someone's life a little easier, a little better, I will gladly take on more to do it. There is something deeply fulfilling about knowing that the people who chose to trust you are better off for it. Putting others first is not a sacrifice to me, it is simply who I am, and it is the standard I hold myself to in everything I do.
