Her Interview
Ten minutes with Juline
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a strong work ethic, ambition, and the foundational values my parents instilled in me. Equally important is my ability to adapt and perform under pressure, skills that have been essential in balancing leadership responsibilities with motherhood while driving meaningful results.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Early in my career, someone told me: "If you wait until you feel qualified, someone less qualified will already have the job."
That stuck with me. I advanced quickly not because I had it all figured out, but because I stopped letting doubt sit in the driver's seat. The women I mentor ask me all the time: "How do I know when I'm ready?"
My answer: You don't. You step up anyway.
Confidence isn't a prerequisite. It's a result.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering the industry is to create your own version of work-life balance rather than waiting for it to be handed to you. Set clear boundaries and priorities, embrace challenges even when they feel uncomfortable, and focus on working smart—not just harder. Success comes from intentional choices and taking personal ownership of your career, especially in demanding fields.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in my field include keeping pace with the rapid advancement of AI and automation in accounting, managing and motivating new generations with evolving work expectations, and maintaining strong leadership without micromanaging. At the same time, these challenges create opportunities to leverage AI for greater efficiency and strategic insight, redefine leadership through inspiration rather than control, and build more flexible pathways for women balancing career and family. I believe the future of our industry requires a balance of technical innovation and human-centered leadership.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in work and life are discipline, accountability, resilience under pressure, integrity in leadership, and staying connected to family and my cultural identity. I believe true success comes from consistent effort, taking personal responsibility, and remaining grounded in your values, even in high-pressure environments. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my two children, singing, dancing, and playing tennis and pickleball. While I was once encouraged to pursue opportunities like The Voice, I chose to prioritize family and career, reflecting my commitment to thoughtful decision-making and maintaining strong priorities.
