Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to genuinely loving what I do. My approach is built on creating a space where people can think through their challenges with confidence. I've built my entire practice on reputation - I've never had to market my services because clients value having someone they can think with. The fact that clients often return after taking breaks, saying they love having me around because they're confident when they have someone they can think with, tells me that my success comes from this genuine connection and the value I provide as a thinking partner. It's about showing up with the mindset that I'm not here to fix anybody, but rather to help people recognize they already have all the abilities they need and just need to think about how to use them.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't think you are the smartest person in the room

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge I see right now is navigating a world with a lot of noise. I've built my practice entirely on reputation and have never had to market my services before, but I recognize that we're in a different world now where maintaining a good reputation requires doing things differently. We're pushing people through their careers faster, technology is changing faster, and information is either accessible or not accessible in ways that create new challenges. People are being asked to create outcomes with limited resources, and they may not have all the experience for what they're being asked to do. This creates both a challenge in terms of the noise and competition for attention, but also an opportunity to help professionals think through how to navigate rapid change and leverage their existing abilities in new ways.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The most important value to me is operating from a place of respect and integrity, the way things used to be done with just a handshake and giving your word. I grew up in a time where there was no social media, and to me, that handshake and the respect of saying I'm going to give you my word is the best way to go about doing things. Even though we don't live in that world anymore and we do things differently now, I still hold onto those core values of trust, respect, and keeping your word. In my coaching work, this translates to creating a genuine space for people to think and grow, not trying to fix them but respecting that they already have what they need within them.
