Her Interview

Ten minutes with Kristen

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the guidance and support of strong leaders and mentors, throughout my career. They have really shaped who I am professionally.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to not get discouraged if you don't have everything figured out—seek guidance, ask questions, and find mentors who can support your growth along the way.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is working in a traditionally male-dominated industry, which also presents an opportunity to help pave the way for more women to succeed and lead. From a marketing perspective the hardest challenge can be educating business owners and key stake holders as to the value of marketing and the fact that you have to spend money to make money. Often times marketing is the one thing that gets overlooked and people think its free. While some aspects maybe "free" to implement there are still overhead costs that come along with that.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide both my work and personal life are honesty, integrity, devotion, and grit, as they shape how I lead, build relationships, and overcome challenges.
