Her Story
About Kristiana
I'm a senior account executive specializing in consultative sales and strategic partnerships with district leaders. My main expertise is connecting with district leaders and being a strategic partner with consultative selling, listening to folks who are making decisions and then pairing their goals and outcomes with our solutions. I take sales calls, do discovery, product demonstrations, proposal presentations, and attend events to connect with district leaders live and make those true connections that translate into larger discussions with their teams and my teams. I'm all about closing business at the end of the day by backwards mapping a plan to bring the vision to life, which I call the go-live plan. I'm notoriously known as the BOCES Queen, which is a complex organization in New York State for education software. Each organization on the EdTech side usually needs someone to lead that charge and navigate the red tape, create a process, and make that area of funding work for them. I'm really known to be a great consultant at each place I've gone to for streamlining this process and creating a process if we don't have one yet. At Newsela, that meant taking the book of business in New York State from $275,000, and after 6 school years, leaving the book of business at about $6 million with the support of a fabulous team that we organized together. I'm all about driving revenue through process, procedure, and consultative selling.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Something my mom used to always say to me is, the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams, and I know that's a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt, but it is something that always stuck with me in terms of dreaming big. If you are dreaming big enough, then you need to 10x your goals, and 10X-ing them is gonna really get you to where you need to be, and to not have a limiting mindset. Just really push yourself past where you think you can go, and then follow up with action, because a dream without an action is just a dream. In order to make it a reality, you have to really 10x all of the activities that it takes to get there.
