About Lakeshia
Lakeshia Green runs two separate businesses alongside her full-time career. She launched her graphic design business in 2017 after creating items for family and friends, becoming more serious about it around 2021. For the past two years she has also operated a travel business, leveraging her lifelong passion for travel to help clients book trips through payment plans and deposits while teaching others the travel agent industry. Green has built her expertise through college degrees, hands on training, and online courses. She currently works with small businesses and nonprofits and aims to establish her own organization dedicated to empowering women through entrepreneurship education, skill building, resume assistance, job applications, LLC formation, and logo creation. Her biggest current challenge is managing time, which she addresses by training an assistant for the design business and planning an apprentice program to begin in January. Green advises aspiring professionals to pursue their visions and dreams even when they seem impossible, noting that the graphic design and travel fields offer substantial income potential.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to God, faith, perseverance, and the determination to keep going. Balancing motherhood, my career, and entrepreneurship has taught me resilience and purpose. I strive to use my success to inspire others, create opportunities, and make a meaningful impact.

Believe in yourself, invest in your growth, and don’t be afraid to take the leap. There are opportunities to build success and financial independence. Start now, stay consistent, and don’t let fear hold you back. Your future self will thank you!

Be consistent, stay open to learning, and don’t be afraid to start.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of my primary challenges is balancing time and operations while expanding both businesses. I am focused on building my team, improving efficiency, and developing an apprenticeship program to share my knowledge, empower aspiring entrepreneurs, and create opportunities for professional growth.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, integrity, family, and perseverance are central to my professional and personal life. I believe in leading with purpose, maintaining strong values, and empowering others through mentorship, collaboration, and meaningful opportunities. My goal is to build a lasting legacy rooted in service, growth, and positive impact.

Through my work in the travel industry, I enjoy helping aspiring travel advisors explore opportunities to build their own businesses. I also value connecting with fellow entrepreneurs, sharing experiences, and encouraging others to pursue their goals with confidence.
Balancing a professional career, motherhood, and entrepreneurship has taught me valuable lessons about time management, commitment, and knowing when to pause and recharge. There are seasons when everything does not go according to plan, but I have learned that setbacks do not have to define the outcome. Sometimes, the greatest growth happens when we learn to adjust, remain focused, and continue moving forward with faith.
My faith is at the center of how I approach life and business. I believe that when God gives us a vision, we must be willing to take the necessary steps to bring it to life. Faith does not mean the journey will always be easy; it means trusting God while remaining committed to the work we are called to do.
Being featured in Connected Women Magazine and Fierce & Fearless Entrepreneur Magazine, as well as serving as a contributing author in the Fierce & Fearless Anthology, has been an important part of my professional and personal journey. Through these platforms, I value the opportunity to share my experiences, encourage others, and inspire women to pursue their goals with confidence.
Community involvement is also an important part of my purpose. I believe in supporting nonprofit initiatives, giving back to my community, and serving as a support partner for small businesses in my area. I understand the dedication it takes to build a business, and I believe that when entrepreneurs support one another, we create stronger connections, more opportunities, and a positive impact that extends beyond individual success.
As I continue to grow personally and professionally, my goal is to build a legacy rooted in purpose, service, and impact. I want other women to understand that they do not have to choose between having a vision and embracing their responsibilities. With planning, perseverance, faith, and a willingness to learn, it is possible to pursue multiple passions while remaining true to who you are.
My message to women who are building something of their own is simple: Start where you are, use what you have, and trust the process. Do not allow fear, comparison, or the belief that you must have everything figured out to prevent you from taking the first step.
Your journey does not have to look like anyone else's. Keep learning, remain consistent, celebrate your progress, and remember that your influence is not measured only by what you accomplish but also by the lives you encourage along the way.
For me, building a life of purpose means continuing to grow, creating opportunities for others, supporting my community, and using the gifts God has given me to make a difference. My story is still being written, and I look forward to every opportunity to lead with faith, serve with intention, and leave a legacy that extends beyond me.
