Her Interview

Ten minutes with Latasha

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success, motivation, and determination are deeply rooted in my faith in God and the love, guidance, and inspiration of my daughter, my mother, and my pastor, Pastor Kenneth Lock II. Each of them plays an important role in my life, encouraging me to remain grounded in my faith, trust God’s plan, and keep moving forward even when the journey becomes challenging.

One of my greatest goals is to show my daughter that growth, learning, and achievement are always possible, no matter where life takes you. I want her to see through my example that obstacles do not define us, perseverance makes us stronger, and with faith, hard work, and determination, we can continue to grow and accomplish our dreams. Through God’s grace and the wisdom and encouragement of those who guide me, I am reminded to remain focused on my purpose and never lose sight of my goals.

Above all, I want my daughter to understand that no matter how difficult life becomes, she should never give up on herself or the future she deserves. I hope to lead by example, showing her that with God at the center, a strong support system, and an unwavering commitment to your purpose, there is always room to grow, overcome challenges, and become the person God has called you to be.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I have ever received is to never give up and always remember your purpose. Stay focused on what you are working toward and who you are working for. When challenges arise, let your purpose be your motivation and your faith be your foundation. Remembering your “why” will give you the strength to keep pushing forward, even when the journey gets difficult. Your goals are bigger than the obstacles you face, so stay committed, trust the process, and never lose sight of what matters most.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

When the journey becomes challenging, never give up on your goals. Stay connected to your passion for education and remember why you chose this path. Your purpose is what will keep you motivated through difficult moments and inspire you to keep growing. Passion, perseverance, and a clear sense of purpose are essential to thriving in education and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. When you remain committed to your “why,” challenges become opportunities to learn, grow, and become the educator and leader you aspire to be.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Balancing my responsibilities as a Parent Coordinator, Student Teacher, cheerleading coach, and college student can be challenging, but organization and time management help me stay focused and successful. Having a clear schedule allows me to prioritize my responsibilities, manage my time effectively, and remain committed to each role. I have learned that with planning, discipline, and determination, it is possible to pursue multiple goals while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my professional and personal life are faith in God, respect, safety, and punctuality. My faith in God guides my decisions, shapes my character, and reminds me to lead with integrity, compassion, and purpose. I believe respect is essential to building positive relationships, safety must always be a priority, and being on time demonstrates accountability, professionalism, and respect for others. I hold myself to these values because I believe they create a strong foundation for leadership, trust, and success in every area of life.
