About Lauren
I'm the Associate Manager of Security and Safety for Sharp Electronics USA, and I've been in this role since October 2025. Throughout my almost 30-year career, I've always been in the loss prevention, asset protection, security, and safety field. I started in the late 1990s and spent about 21 years in the food and supermarket industry, where I really enjoyed being out in the field with boots on the ground, connecting with people in the stores and getting a feel for their environment and how they work. I did a lot of auditing, focusing on shrink and safety, and worked on both internal and external theft. When I left the food industry, I wanted to stay in the field but change the environment, so I went to Party City where I was more in the corporate environment doing project management. I supported 750 stores throughout the country with installation of access control, burglar alarms, CCTV, armored car, and other physical security systems. I also managed the corporate facility for emergency response, incident response, and business continuity. I then got promoted to warehouse manager for Party City in Chester, where my role pivoted more to safety in a million square foot facility with a lot of distribution activity. Unfortunately, Party City closed and I was out of work for a little bit last year, but I got this position at Sharp in October 2025 and I absolutely love it. Sharp is a phenomenal place to work with an amazing environment that gives so much room to grow. My main area of expertise is physical security, including access control, burglar alarm intrusion systems, CCTV, and investigations. On a typical day, I manage access control for all our satellite sites throughout the country, manage the safety program which I was brought in to revive and grow, work on installing brand new camera systems throughout Sharp, manage emergency and incident response at corporate, and serve on the business continuity team.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Never stop learning. Never stop asking questions. Never be afraid to ask questions. And always be involved. Always be involved, even if it doesn't necessarily pertain to your current position, right? If you're working in a corporate office, and there's, you know, other things that are outside of your scope, and you can get involved, get involved.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Collaboration and partnership are absolutely important to me in my work. Leadership is key. Articulation is crucial - knowing how to speak to people, knowing your audience, knowing the right time and the wrong time. Really understanding, listening, taking a step back, listening, and understanding, being in the moment. That has helped me throughout both my professional and personal life.
