Loni Fagel, MA, MEd, LPCC, EMDRIA Approved Consultant
Loni Fagel, MA, MEd, LPCC, EMDRIA Approved Consultant is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and expressive arts therapist specializing in trauma, grief, medical challenges, and culturally responsive care. Her career journey began with a degree in television writing and producing, transitioned through education, and ultimately evolved into psychology and counseling. Loni integrates clinical expertise with lived experience, offering trauma-informed, expressive, and whole-person approaches that honor the body, mind, and spirit. Her work blends EMDR, expressive arts, narrative therapy, somatic practices, and grief-informed strategies, providing space for clients to explore not only symptoms but also identity, relationships, and sources of meaning. Loni’s clinical philosophy emphasizes dignity, empathy, and helping individuals find and use their own voice.
In her daily practice, Loni dedicates mornings to non-clinical work, including training, writing, and consultation, while afternoons are focused on direct clinical care. Her most notable professional achievement is completing her master’s degree following a significant health setback, a milestone she regards as a personal victory. She finds profound fulfillment in guiding clients through transitions, helping them discover new purpose, and supporting meaningful closure at the end of therapy. Loni also partners with medical professionals and interdisciplinary teams to advance integrated care models, addressing medical trauma, chronic illness, and psychosocial recovery in collaboration with oncologists, primary care teams, and palliative care providers.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Loni describes her interests as eclectic and deeply creative. She enjoys painting with acrylics and mixed media, has exhibited artwork in Austin, and developed a series titled All the F**s* as a form of therapeutic expression. She integrates poetry and words into her visual art, reads physical books—particularly works by Alien Moriarty and neuroscience-informed titles like Your Brain on Art—and spends time hiking, skiing, writing poetry and short stories, and enjoying her family, including her 7-year-old Mini Bernadoodle. Loni is also passionate about philanthropy and advocacy, supporting causes such as HAP for trauma recovery, Stand Up to Cancer, and integrative healthcare initiatives.
