Her Interview

Ten minutes with Lynisha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my mother. She has been there for me and has supported me, providing tough love and kindness during my most difficult moments. I appreciate her for all of the love and support.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is “Cover Your Butt,” or CYB. No matter the situation, always email. You will never go wrong.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Corrections has its highs and lows. There will be some times that make you question if you are even doing the right thing. When you have that feeling, it is a good idea to keep going.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge for me at the moment would be continuing to stay on course during days when I want to give up.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In both my work and personal life, I would have to say comprehension, compassion, and composure.
