About Madison

Madison Kelley is an Acquisition Account Executive based in Austin, Texas, with approximately 10 years of experience in sales and 5 and a half years in account management roles. In her current position, she is responsible for onboarding new clients, managing an existing book of business, maintaining a strong sales pipeline, producing quotes, conducting client meetings, and executing high-volume outreach, including at least 50 calls per day. She operates in a hunter/farmer capacity, balancing new business acquisition with long-term client relationship management, with a strong focus on driving revenue growth and delivering value to clients. She was ranked in the top 10% at her company last year, reflecting her consistent performance and results-driven approach. Her career began in customer-facing roles, including work at an airport and a call center, where she developed strong communication and service skills. Encouraged by a manager to explore sales, she transitioned into her first account management role and has since built a steady career progression across multiple organizations. She has been with her current company for three years, continuing to refine her expertise in account development, client engagement, and strategic outreach within competitive markets. Madison’s professional philosophy is centered on relationship-building, active listening, and understanding client needs. She places strong emphasis on empathy, celebrating the success of colleagues, and contributing to a positive and empowering workplace culture. Outside of her career, she is a single mother who prioritizes family and faith, both of which remain central to her life and decision-making. These values, combined with resilience and adaptability, have shaped her approach to both personal and professional success.

Ten minutes with Madison

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the incredible mentors I have had throughout my professional career who believed in me and provided valuable support, guidance, and encouragement. In particular, Nidhi Bhagat, my previous sales manager, and Amanda Moreno, a peer and coworker, played significant roles in my growth and development.I also credit my success to the unwavering support of my friends and family. They have consistently encouraged me to pursue my goals and dreams while instilling in me the confidence to believe that I am capable of achieving anything I set my mind to. Their faith in me, coupled with their frequent description of me as one of the most resilient people they know, has inspired me to persevere through challenges and continue striving for success.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best pieces of career advice I’ve received is to trust my instincts when making decisions. A former manager once emphasized the importance of listening to that internal sense of judgment, especially when navigating uncertainty or evaluating opportunities. Over time, I’ve learned that while data and input from others are valuable, combining them with intuition often leads to more confident and well-balanced decisions.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to women entering the sales industry is that sales isn’t about persuading people to buy something they don’t need. It’s about understanding challenges, solving problems, building trust, and genuinely caring for the people you serve. When you lead with integrity and put customers first, success naturally follows. Throughout my career, maintaining a people-first mindset has not only helped me build meaningful relationships but has also been a key driver of my consistent success in achieving my goals and quota.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges and opportunities in my field today center around intense competition from large-scale players which often makes it difficult to compete on price and requires a stronger focus on value, relationships, and service differentiation. Cold calling also remains a persistent challenge, particularly when navigating gatekeepers and overcoming customer objections. On a personal level, balancing the demands of being a single parent while managing significant family responsibilities has required strong time management, resilience, and discipline, especially when paired with financial pressures and the realities of building a career without a traditional academic background. At the same time, these experiences have created meaningful opportunities for growth—developing a highly adaptive, self-driven approach to sales, strengthening relationship-building skills, and proving that long-term success can be achieved through persistence, emotional intelligence, and a strong work ethic rather than formal credentials alone.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide my work and personal life are centered on family, faith, and empathy. My family is my top priority, and as a single mother, I am especially committed to advocating for and supporting my child with disabilities while ensuring stability and care at home. Faith is a grounding force that shapes how I approach challenges, decisions, and resilience in both life and career. In the workplace, empathy is equally important to me—I make a conscious effort to support colleagues not only during moments of success but also through challenges, fostering understanding, respect, and a positive, collaborative environment where people feel valued and supported.
