Her Story

About Maryury

I grew up in an urban environment without much guidance. My mother and grandmother were incredibly hardworking, each working multiple jobs. So for most of my childhood, it was my sister and me figuring things out on our own. I eventually dropped out of school. I took a few college courses and worked at Gap Factory, but deep down, I knew I was meant for something bigger.

Seeing my sister in the healthcare field inspired me to shift my direction. I started from the ground up with my GED, and from there, I built my career with determination, discipline, and a clear sense of purpose.

Today, I operate at an executive level, known as “the traveling manager.” My focus is on culture change, skill development, and leadership.

What sets my approach apart is connection. I take the time to truly understand my employees, both personally and professionally. I identify their strengths, their “superpowers,” and work to elevate them so they can succeed and reach their goals. I firmly believe that you can’t be a powerhouse alone, you become a powerhouse with your team.

Through consistent skill building, monthly meetings, and intentional culture development, I’ve been able to turn struggling teams into thriving ones. For me, it’s not just about performance...it’s about building people, because when people grow, everything else follows.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to growth and culture. Everything I do is centered around building a strong, positive environment where people can thrive. I’ve been able to succeed in my field because I take the time to truly understand my team both personally and professionally. I identify each individual’s strengths, their “superpower,” and focus on helping them elevate those strengths to reach their goals.

To me, success isn’t about individual performance it’s about collective success. You can’t be a powerhouse alone; you become a powerhouse with your team. That’s how you transform a struggling team into a high performing one through consistent skill development, intentional communication, regular touchpoints like monthly meetings, and most importantly, a strong, supportive culture.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to find your purpose and stay rooted in it. There will be challenges moments that knock you down but resilience is what sets you apart. Get back up every single time and keep moving forward.

Never let anyone make you question your ability to achieve your goals. Stay confident in your vision and keep your dreams alive, no matter the obstacles.

And most importantly, don’t be afraid to fail. Failure isn’t the opposite of success it’s part of the journey. Every setback is a lesson, and those lessons are what ultimately shape your success.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field has been changing people's mindset. I often step into teams that are stuck in a rut, low morale, lack of direction, or inconsistent performance and I’m responsible for turning that around.

That’s the challenging part, but it’s also where the greatest opportunity lies. I get to rebuild, reset expectations, and create a culture that drives performance and accountability. Seeing that transformation watching a team go from struggling to thriving is incredibly rewarding.

So while it can be tough, I see it more as an opportunity than a challenge. It’s where I do my best work, developing people, strengthening teams, and consistently driving successful turnarounds.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me in both my work and personal life are integrity, love, and happiness. I believe that everything we do is rooted in love whether it’s how we lead, how we show up for others, or how we build our lives.

I lead with compassion. I’m intentional about taking my time with people, making them feel seen, valued, and supported. That’s true in my professional life, and even more so at home.

My children are everything to me. Because of my own upbringing where love wasn’t always the foundation I made a conscious decision to be different. I prioritize creating a home filled with love, presence, and connection.

At the end of the day, success means nothing without integrity, and it means even less without love and happiness to share it with.
