Before rebranding her firm from A Colorful World Interior Design, Melonie led countless successful projects across Florida and Georgia, earning recognition for her ability to combine artistry with technical excellence. Under her leadership, Linen and Earth Interior Design continues to redefine modern interiors—integrating texture, flow, and intention into every space. She believes that the best designs tell a story, and her mission is to transform each client’s vision into an enduring, inspiring environment that feels as good as it looks.

A hands-on leader and lifelong learner, Melonie credits much of her success to real-world experience and an unwavering commitment to integrity. Outside of her design work, she is deeply involved in Helping Hurting People, an organization supporting homeless children. When she’s not designing, Melonie enjoys traveling, exploring nature, and spending time with her family. Her passion for creativity and compassion continues to guide both her work and her life—proving that great design starts with heart.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my unwavering determination and resilience. No matter the challenge, I’ve always made it a point to rise each time I’m knocked down and keep moving forward.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to remember that we have two ears and one mouth for a reason — to listen twice as much as we speak. This simple reminder has taught me the value of active listening and understanding before responding.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering the industry is to pursue internships whenever possible. Internships are invaluable—they provide hands-on experience, help you build professional connections, and give you a clearer understanding of your career path before you fully step into it.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges I face in my field is marketing myself in an already saturated market. Standing out requires creativity, consistency, and authenticity. Another ongoing challenge—and opportunity—is getting contractors to understand and align with my vision. Clear communication and collaboration are essential to bringing ideas to life exactly as envisioned.

The most important values to me, both in my work and personal life, are honesty and integrity. I believe in grounding myself in truth, staying authentic in every interaction, and ensuring that my actions consistently align with my words.
