Meredith Wright

Assistant Ticket Office Manager

Meredith Wright is a sports management professional with about five years of experience in ticketing operations, fan engagement, and athletics marketing. She currently serves as the Assistant Ticket Office Manager with the Adams Center at the University of Montana, where she oversees ticket sales, customer service, and game-day operations for athletic events, concerts, and shows. In her role, she serves as one of the first points of contact for fans, helping shape the overall experience and ensuring smooth operations across the athletic department.

Her career in sports began in 2021 with an internship in the athletic department at Kennesaw State University while she was completing her degree in sport management. After graduating in December 2022, she gained additional hands-on experience working at a baseball and softball facility in the Atlanta area before transitioning into professional sports. A connection through a player led her to the Missoula PaddleHeads, an independent baseball team in Montana, where she worked in ticketing and community engagement for two years. That opportunity required a major cross-country move from the Southeast to Montana—an experience she describes as challenging but transformative.

In March 2025, Meredith stepped into her current leadership role at the University of Montana, continuing to build her expertise in ticket sales and operations. Her work is rooted in customer service and relationship-building, with a focus on creating positive fan experiences at every touchpoint. She was motivated to enter sports management by a desire to help increase female representation in the sports industry, particularly in front office roles. While recognizing the long-term nature of that goal, she remains committed to contributing to progress in the field while building her career in collegiate athletics.

Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I would say it's probably the basic answer, but I mean, it is the hard work and the dedication. Beyond that, I think relationships play a huge role in my success. I look at my day-to-day life as well as my work life, and I don't think any piece of me would be complete without the friendships and relationships that I have. That's where any of my other values would come from, so that to me is probably the most important foundation for everything I've achieved.

Q

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I've ever received is something along the lines of being willing to take the leap and doing it with no fear. I never imagined in any universe that I would have driven 2,000 miles for a job fresh out of college. I had only ever really lived in the Southeast, so moving across the country was terrifying, and then it's probably been the best decision I've ever made. I really like the phrase 'do it scared.' I would say it's about being willing to take the leap and make sacrifices. It's going to be a little scary, but it'll be okay.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say it is to just work hard, and the biggest thing that I've learned is probably to just take any opportunity you can get. Sometimes it might not seem like the best or the number one pick that you wanted, but I've kind of discovered in sports that it's all about, or a lot about, who you know and who knows who. So I would say just take any opportunity that you can and be able to capitalize on that. Show up when you're there and create relationships with people, because you never know who down the road you may know that knows someone. Networking and building those connections is absolutely critical in this industry.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge I'm facing right now is trying to figure out how to grow everything in general. More specifically, I would say it's growing fans in certain sports and growing any type of fan base for certain sports. That's really the core challenge we're working on.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Relationships is probably the number one value to me. I look at my every day-to-day life as well as my work life, and I don't think any piece of me would be complete without the friendships and relationships that I have. Honestly, that's where any of my other values would follow or come from. That foundation of relationships, to me, is probably the most important thing in both my personal and professional life.
