Her Story

About Mia Rose

Mia Rose Voss is a wellness leader, movement educator, and community builder dedicated to helping people cultivate resilience through mindful movement, sustainable well-being practices, and meaningful human connection. She specializes in designing transformative experiences that bridge physical fitness, nervous system health, and personal growth.

Mia Rose currently serves as Head of Live Studio and Community Growth at Retreat, where she leads live programming and community strategy focused on creating accessible, human-centered wellness experiences. She also works as a Creator in Residence at Pie, supporting creator engagement and community expansion through curated events and experiential programming.

With more than a decade of experience in the wellness industry, Mia Rose’s journey began as a competitive athlete, including collegiate soccer, before a serious health condition left her bedridden for over a year. Forced to step away from school while navigating chronic abdominal pain and complex health challenges, she turned to yoga as a pathway toward healing. What initially felt like a departure from the intensity of athletics became a profound lesson in resilience, self-awareness, and the power of embodiment.

Following her recovery, Mia Rose pursued certifications in personal training and health coaching before earning a degree in Exercise Physiology. She has since worked across healthcare-adjacent startups, fitness companies, and wellness organizations, developing a holistic approach to teaching, coaching, and community leadership.

Today, Mia Rose leads workshops, retreats, and movement experiences that empower women to navigate life transitions, chronic health challenges, and evolving relationships with their bodies. Her work is grounded in the belief that healing is not about perfection, but about building practical, sustainable tools that foster confidence, self-trust, and long-term well-being.

Whether teaching a class, facilitating a retreat, or cultivating community, Mia Rose’s mission is to help people feel more connected—to themselves, to others, and to lives lived with greater intention, vitality, and purpose.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My biggest piece of advice I tell myself regularly, and anyone who is beginning their career path, or their personal journey, or self-exploration path, is you can change your mind. The amount of times that gives me freedom to be a little messy, to be a little uncomfortable, to be ambitious, or to not be afraid to put myself out there is because I can remind myself that life takes crazy paths, and you can change your mind. I've lived in my favorite cities in America, and I did that because I wasn't afraid to try it out and see if it works, and then change my mind when I was ready. Life is a beautiful array of opportunity, and just try it out and see what happens. Empower yourself to know that you can navigate the next step. If there's uncertainty, then there's likely a lesson, an opportunity, or a story on the other side, and I think that's a way that frees you from living with regret, too, because you learn something from that experience.

02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Bio-individuality is my favorite concept that I learned during my health coaching time. It's about trying and seeing what helps and supports your own personal wellness practice, and that can evolve and change. The more that you know about yourself, the more that you can love yourself and therefore be a reflection of love to others. I really think that the holistic wellness path has given me that sense of confidence, because I know how to advocate for myself in Western medical practices. I know how to talk to my employer and set gentle boundaries for myself because of what I've been through. I know how to communicate to my loved ones and my personal family and friends when I am going through health crisis, because I did the work to get to a place where I feel more connected to the mission. Acts of service are incredibly important to me. If you're blessed and can recognize that, it's so important to give back. My high school and my college had the same motto, to serve and not be served, and that's something that I was inspired by my parents. Anytime I'm feeling anxious or overwhelmed in my personal life, I'm thinking about myself way too much. I need to go out in the field and help someone else out. Acts of service can be done every day, you just have to open your eyes.
