Her Interview
Ten minutes with NaKisha
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to continuous learning, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping people succeed. I have built my career by embracing opportunities, teaching myself new skills, and growing through hands-on experience. I also credit my success to my ability to lead through change, collaborate across cultures, improve processes, and use technology to create meaningful, scalable solutions.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is to embrace change, seek mentorship, and remain open to honest feedback. My older sister has been a major influence, showing me the importance of continuously evolving and pursuing growth. I’ve also learned that meaningful mentorship is built on trust, vulnerability, and honest communication, and I believe in paying that forward by opening doors and helping others recognize their potential.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women is to do it even when it’s hard. Don’t second-guess yourself or talk yourself out of opportunities because you don’t meet every qualification. If you have 80% of what’s needed, go for it and let them tell you no. Believe in your abilities, take the chance, and trust that you can grow into the opportunity.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I see significant opportunities at the intersection of customer experience, learning, technology, and AI. As organizations rethink how people learn, collaborate, and serve customers, we have an opportunity to use technology thoughtfully to reduce friction, improve productivity, and empower employees. I also believe inclusive leadership and creating environments where people feel comfortable challenging existing practices are essential to meaningful progress.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are accountability, service, faith, family, and continuous growth. I believe in taking responsibility for my actions, leading through service, and supporting and empowering others. My faith and family keep me grounded, while continuous growth inspires me to become a better leader and person. Ultimately, I want to leave people stronger and more confident because I was part of their journey.
