Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to a combination of lived experience, education, and a deep commitment to service. As a Primary Therapist and Family Program Coordinator, I bring both my academic background in divinity and my personal experience of loving someone with addiction into the sacred space of recovery. My work facilitating individual and group therapy, leading a virtual family program, and hosting biweekly in-person sessions is driven by a mission to restore hope to individuals and families. I am most fulfilled when I see hope return to someone’s eyes and when I can use my own journey to remind others they are not alone. As a Certified Family Recovery Specialist, I find profound meaning in supporting clients through major milestones, grounded in my own ongoing recovery and faith.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Natalie’s advice to young women entering the behavioral health and recovery field is both simple and intentional: If you feel a passion placed on your heart, take the next step. She encourages women to trust that calling and follow it with courage, knowing it may lead them into this industry or somewhere entirely unexpected—but ultimately, it will lead them where they are meant to be.

Q

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in the behavioral health and recovery field is ensuring families have access to consistent, compassionate support while navigating stigma, burnout, and limited resources. At the same time, this challenge presents a powerful opportunity to expand family-centered care through education, virtual programming, and community-based support. By normalizing conversations around substance use disorders and integrating clinical, spiritual, and peer-informed approaches, the field can continue to create more accessible, holistic pathways to recovery for individuals and their loved ones.
