Her Story

About Rachel

I’m a Social Media Manager and former Special Education Teacher who now helps small businesses and entrepreneurs tell their stories online. I believe social media should feel authentic, approachable, and aligned with your voice—not overwhelming or confusing.

After years in education working as a reading specialist and teacher, I discovered how much I loved helping people communicate ideas clearly and creatively. That passion naturally led me into social media strategy, content writing, and coaching business owners who want to grow their brands in a genuine way.

01What do you attribute your success to?

attribute my success to the unwavering support of my family, who encouraged me from the very beginning and believed in me even before I fully believed in myself. For years, I knew I wanted to build something of my own, I just needed the right timing and the courage to take the leap.

When the opportunity presented itself, I trusted my instincts and went for it. My confidence, patience, and calm demeanor have allowed me to stay grounded through challenges and focused on my long-term vision. I’ve learned that success isn’t about rushing, it’s about consistency, resilience, and believing in your ability to grow into the business owner you’re meant to become.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is that there is never a perfect time to begin something new, and waiting for perfect often means never starting at all. You do not need to have everything figured out before you take the first step. You simply need a clear intention, a flexible plan, and the courage to trust your instincts.

I was also told to expect that not everything will go as planned, and that is not a sign of failure. It is part of growth. Be willing to pivot, adjust what is not working, and most importantly, keep showing up. Consistency builds confidence, and confidence builds momentum.

That advice has stayed with me and continues to guide how I approach both challenges and opportunities in business.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Even though I am still learning and growing myself, the best advice I can offer young women entering this industry is to truly understand your why. Why do you want to start? What are your goals, your priorities, and what genuinely excites you? When you are clear on your purpose, it becomes much easier to stay focused and motivated during challenging seasons.

Choose something you can confidently speak about, relate to, and feel passionate about. Building something new takes time, patience, and consistency. Success does not happen overnight, and avoiding burnout starts with realistic expectations.

Create a plan to work hard, but also protect balance in your personal life and with your family. Boundaries are essential. When you build with intention and give yourself space to recharge, you create something sustainable. Starting something of your own is one of the most rewarding gifts you can give yourself, and it is worth the effort.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Social media is evolving every single day, and one of the biggest challenges right now is standing out in an increasingly crowded space. Finding your authentic voice and building a brand that truly connects with your audience takes clarity, strategy, and consistency.

There is also a great deal happening behind the scenes that many people do not see. Understanding platform updates, navigating constant algorithm changes, and staying current with trends can be time consuming and, at times, overwhelming. What worked six months ago may not work today, so adaptability is essential.

At the same time, the opportunities are greater than ever. Social media is where people spend their time, build trust, and make purchasing decisions. When you identify your niche, communicate your value clearly, and show up consistently, the impact can be powerful. The demand for strong, strategic digital presence is only growing, which makes this an incredibly exciting space to be in.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The value that matters most to me, both professionally and personally, is authenticity. In a world where so much content, communication, and connection is automated, it is easy to lose the human element. While technology can simplify tasks and improve efficiency, I believe relationships are still built on real connection.

I am committed to staying honest, patient, understanding, and true to who I am. What you see is what you get. I carry the same values into my business that I do in my friendships and family life. I do not believe in putting on a show or creating a persona that feels disconnected from reality. Some days that looks like workout clothes and no makeup, other days it is dressed up and polished, but it is always genuinely me.

Creating an environment where people feel comfortable, seen, and able to trust me is incredibly important. Trust is the foundation of both strong personal relationships and successful business partnerships, and I work hard to protect and nurture that in every interaction.
