About Reseda
Reseda Cox is a dynamic healthcare operations and growth leader with more than a decade of experience driving performance, census expansion, and operational excellence across complex healthcare environments. As Director of Admissions at VITAS Healthcare, she oversees admissions strategy for one of the largest hospice programs in California, managing a high-volume referral pipeline and leading multidisciplinary teams focused on delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Known for her ability to align strategy with execution, Reseda has built a reputation for improving workflows, strengthening health system partnerships, and creating scalable operational solutions that directly impact both patient access and organizational growth.
Raised in a family that owned and operated a successful Los Angeles restaurant business for more than 65 years, Reseda developed an early foundation in leadership, business management, and customer service. After beginning her healthcare journey at Fresenius Medical Care, she quickly advanced through multiple leadership roles, ultimately becoming a Facility Administrator responsible for stabilizing clinic operations, improving compliance, and enhancing team performance. Her expertise in change management and operational leadership later led her to hospice care, where she discovered a passion for supporting patients and families during some of life’s most difficult moments. Today, she is recognized for mentoring clinicians, coaching field teams, and ensuring compassionate communication remains central to every patient interaction.
Reseda earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Finance from California State University, Long Beach and further expanded her healthcare leadership expertise through graduate studies in healthcare management. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to leadership development, operational excellence, and community impact, including volunteer support for organizations such as the CHOC Foundation and healthcare outreach initiatives. Whether leading large-scale admissions operations, mentoring healthcare professionals, or building stronger systems of care, Reseda is driven by a belief that effective leadership begins with empathy, accountability, and a commitment to helping others navigate challenging moments with dignity and compassion.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to resilience and intentional growth. My journey has required me to navigate different seasons of adversity while continuing to show up with strength, determination, and a high level of performance. Through those experiences, I developed a strong sense of self-discipline, accountability, and perseverance.
I’ve learned that growth comes from both the beautiful and the difficult moments in life. Those experiences have shaped my leadership style by teaching me how to balance empathy with accountability and lead people with both compassion and clarity.
I also believe much of my growth has come from staying open to new perspectives and experiences. My passion for travel and exploring different cultures has broadened both my personal and professional outlook. It has taught me the value of human connection, diversity, and understanding people beyond my own perspective.
To me, success is not measured only by titles or achievements. It’s measured by the impact you make, the way you influence and uplift others, and how you make people feel seen, supported, and valued.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received was to never shrink myself to fit into a room and never lose my voice trying to make others comfortable. Success rarely happens by accident. It comes from intentional decisions, discipline, consistency, and having the courage to create opportunities for yourself.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You can be both powerful and graceful. Own your space, trust your instincts, and never dim your light to make others comfortable.
I encourage young women to advocate for themselves early. Ask questions, seek mentorship, build meaningful relationships, and don’t be afraid to speak up in leadership conversations. Some of the greatest growth comes from stepping into uncomfortable situations before you feel completely ready.
Most importantly, protect your integrity. Skills can always be learned, but the way you lead people, treat others, and carry yourself during difficult moments will shape your reputation far more than any title ever will.
And no matter how ambitious you are, never lose your identity to your career. Success means very little if you lose yourself in the process. Maintain balance, protect your peace, and make time for the people and experiences that truly matter to you.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges right now is balancing operational demands with human connection. The industry is facing workforce shortages, burnout, rising costs, and constant change, making it difficult to maintain both quality patient care and strong employee retention.
At the same time, there is major opportunity for growth through ongoing innovation, technology advancement and emotionally intelligent leadership. The companies that will succeed are the ones that embrace change, invest in supportive cultures, and continue prioritizing patient-centered care.
Times are changing, and strong leadership today is no longer defined only by operational performance. It’s also defined by the ability to connect with people, inspire teams, embrace change, and lead with humanity.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that matter most to me, both professionally and personally, are integrity, emotional intelligence, balance, growth and making a impact. I believe in treating people with respect, leading with empathy, and always doing what’s right, even when it’s not the easiest or most popular decision.
A big part of who I am was shaped through adversity. I’ve learned how to recalibrate during pressure, stay focused during uncertainty, and continue growing through challenges that could have easily broken me.
At every stage of my life, one word continues to define my journey: BECOMING
Becoming disciplined when life demanded strength.
Becoming focused when distractions were loud.
Becoming a leader when expectations were unclear.
Becoming whole through moments that tested me deeply.
I truly believe that you are not defined by what you go through, but by who you choose to become because of it.
