About RUCHA
I've been in fintech for 3 years now, initially starting as a data analyst in this industry. I was always interested in how data works in an organization, and mainly, I love doing work where an impact can be driven - where I can see the impact of my work. I slowly grew more interested in data and decided to get my master's done to get a deep dive into the data industry. Since then, I've been working as a developer where I help my organization build dashboards for other clients. We work with raw ERP and CRM datasets - very complex, high-volume data that's being generated in a lot of organizations. They don't like looking at it raw, so they need fancy-looking dashboards to understand their data, which is what business stakeholders understand. On a typical day, I have stand-up meetings with my clients where they tell me what requirements they have and what kind of dashboards they want. Then my teammates and I go through the data sets and various data sources they have, and we try to come up with an approach or strategy on how the data could be extracted from the databases and what techniques could be used to optimize those. We go into an ideation phase where we use Canva, Word documents, or presentations to visually show the client how a dashboard would look like. Once they give us the green light, we start developing them in Power BI or Tableau, depending on the company. We develop cool features and KPIs where they can easily click on a button and graphs or different visuals are generated, which is very interactive. Once that's done, we publish it into a workspace or into an app that can be directly viewed on an iPhone or Android device, so business stakeholders can view that dashboard from anywhere. I've always been excited that I did something that is visually appealing for someone, and I just love that part of my work - whatever I do, it creates an impact.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would give advice to be bold and to be unapologetically you. I feel we are always told we have to be a certain or particular way, what we can do, what we cannot do, what ambitions we can have. I really think women right now, in this current time, need to be bold and need to be unapologetically themselves. I've seen so many girlfriends of mine who are really, really doing great, but they are underconfident somehow. Even though if they are doing really great, most of the women I see around me are underconfident. I don't know, I'm not blaming someone, but I just want to say, in general, most of us are brought up in a way where we're always told we are not good enough, we are not doing good enough. There's this chase we have in our heads, that even though if you have achieved something, no, I'm not good enough till I get the next thing. I really want that to change for a lot of us. Unfortunately, a lot of women don't have some peers around them who are encouraging enough to help them push forward. So I really feel that that zeal and zest we have to have within ourselves, that I'm doing good. It's fine, even if some people don't believe in you, or that time they feel that you're not good enough, but it's only important that you believe in yourself, that you can get there, and just focus on your own individual path. Keep telling yourself, girl, like, you can do it. Self-love is so important.
