Her Story
About Sadie
I grew up around business, so it was just something I always loved. I'm a really relationship-based person, so working hands-on with different businesses and companies has been my biggest passion and blessing. I've been working in marketing and advertising for about two and a half years at Nexstar Media. In my role, I do account management, handling everything to do with my client's accounts - whether that be their broadcast media, their advertising on digital platforms such as Facebook, Google Ad Listings, and things of that nature. I also handle all our creative services, making any tweaks that need to be made and constant changes to keep up to date with what's going on in the world, marketing-wise, for each industry specifically. I navigate each relationship as though they're a friend rather than a customer, because it's important to be able to understand them at their exact level and what their goals are, rather than just having someone throw it all the way and then hope that it works. One of my proudest achievements is working with one of the largest power sports companies in the state of Indiana - when I signed on with them, they were an unknown dealer, and throughout the last year and a half, we've really built a giant threshold for them.

Ten minutes with Sadie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the constant drive, because I just love watching other people be successful. Seeing their campaigns push them forward makes me very excited. That passion for helping my clients succeed really fuels everything I do.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be scared of rejection. Every industry and business for their marketing is different, and there's always some sort of objection with them. But finding a way to guide them through that, to turn the no into a yes, is very important in that role. You have to learn how to navigate objections and not let rejection stop you.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The market's pretty saturated, so just really being able to hone in on what you're doing and keeping a steady line is crucial. With so much competition out there, you have to stay focused and consistent in your approach.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I navigate each relationship as though they're a friend rather than a customer, because it's important to be able to understand them at their exact level and what their goals are, rather than just having someone throw it all the way and then hope that it works. Building genuine relationships and truly understanding people is at the core of how I work. In my personal life, I love to be with my friends and my family, especially my niece and my nephews - those relationships mean everything to me.
