Her Story
About Shayla
I didn't arrive here through a straight line.
I arrived through The Spiral, and somewhere along the way, I learned to see it with New Eyes.
For over two decades, I lived inside a body experiencing intense invisible pain. I became highly adaptable as a result – the Master of the Masks... The Silent Substance Abuser – consistently pushing my needs and desires elsewhere for others. I navigated relationships that taught me to silence my voice, systemst that struggled to understand my experience, and circumstances that repeatedly asked me to abandon pieces of myself just to survive.
It was an ugly, uncertain road at times. There is no romanticizing that.
But something within me refused to stop reaching for the Light. I kept asking questions. I kept reflecting no matter how ashamed or angry I felt with myself. I kept studying. I kept creating. I kept offering Love where no one had handed it before. Insert:_The_Mirror_Dimension which slowly developed into an entire coaching philosophy of mine. How often do we get to see our pain actually alive? We cry into pillows or suppress ourselves, but actually viewing our agony? Yeah... That changed my brain chemistry.
I believed there had to be a better way of living, loving, understanding and participating in this world and so Brick by Brick I made changes that would stick. I've always had a mind that thinks in systems – I see patterns, relationships, networks and connections between seemingly separate things. Biology, ecology, physics, psychology, philosophy, and consciousness all invite me into the same fundamental inquiry: How does everything relate? My mystical experiences have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Rather than asking anyone to accept them as absolute truth, I've become increasingly interested in exploring them through curiosity, discernment, scientific literature, and lived observation. I love data. I love questions that challenge my beliefs, even if they're hard to budge on at first. And I love that there are still things about our existence we don't fully understand like my mantra, "We Are Magick".
To me, Wonder and Critical Thinking belong in the same room. Then came Year 2026. After so much time rebuilding from 04/20/2025 Car Accident → Endometriosis Diagnosis → Full System Collapse → Self-Devotion, I experienced yet another profound collapse, (highly suspected hEDS), that left me in bed for seven weeks. And somewhere within that stillness, I began recognizing something extraordinary. My tenacity on keeping "records" evidently became the breadcrumbs to my ecosystem. I had planted the seeds for myself unknowingly. Today that ecosystem is taking shape through Lightweaver, my creative and educational body of work, and The Frequency Lab, a free online community space for exploring our bodies, our relationship to the living world and our connectivity to one another. My Ecosystem is Interdisciplinary. I work with people through: Energy Work: Individual sessions centered on energetic awareness, connection and embodied experience. Lightweaving & Gridwork: A teachable expressive practice exploring movement, space, perceived energetic patterns, and The Grid, (a sublayer behind my vision where my mind perceives a subtle grid within everything). Somatic Lightcoding: My anatomy-informed modality to exploring the body through somatic awareness, fascia-relationships, visualization, and cellular-energy concepts. Massage: Hands-on care supporting relaxation, physical awareness, and reconnection with the body. Tea Sit-ins: Educational, intentional gatherings slowing down with tea. Ritual Sit-ins: Shared experiential learning through sacred crafting, ceremony, creative expression and personal intention. Deeply inspired by my way of living and indigenous roots, (Mapuche Indian, present day Chile). Nutrition, Meal Planning & Cooking: Nourishing individuals and families through thoughtful food preparation, practical education and care. 1:1 Coaching: Personalized support for self-inquiry, personal growth, embodied awareness and weaving integration into real-time experiences.
Alongside this work, I'm developing three books: Becoming the Scientist of my Own Body – my story of how I healed symptoms associated with endometriosis and hEDS through outlets not considered "treatment options" at the time. Soul Threads: The Dark Mind of a Lightweaver – all my poetry and creative writing excerpts. Lightweaver Lexicon – a playful exploration of language and the words I've created along the way, like a dictionary. I'm also a Mother, a lifelong student in the School of Life, and an advocate for the protection of the ecosystems that sustain us. Things I love: Video Editing, Graphic Design (self-learning TouchDesigner) and Content Creation, Dancing, Writing, Painting, Sketching, Journaling, Trail Exploring, Swimming, Flow Toys, (to name a few..)
I don't believe I have all the answers. In fact, the more I learn, the more fascinating the questions become. What I do believe is that our experiences deserve more attention and curiosity, our bodies deserve compassion and kindness, and our capacity to participate in our reality is only as limited as we make up our minds to be. (thx Abraham Lincoln.) I spent years trying to find my way out of the Darkness, but somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t needing to escape anymore. I was learning how to alchemize. Now I'm sharing what I've learned for free because I believe we are more than capable of completely rewriting Life on this Earth, for the better. My mind often drifts to Jacque Fresco's work, if you'd like a Thread to Pull ;)
Thank you for being here with me.

Ten minutes with Shayla
01What do you attribute your success to?
I genuinely attribute my success to the Light, my son, and my parents for allowing the stress-free environment I needed to emerge. But most of all – my refusal to give up on myself, even when doing so might have seemed much... much easier. I've worn many hats, worked a variety of industries, navigated extraordinary hardships, and eventually found myself dismantling nearly every piece of the identity and Life I'd spent over 15 years building. But what awaited me on the other side was something I could never have manufactured: the most authentic version of myself I'd ever known. And suddenly, nothing I'd experienced felt wasted. Every job, every relationship, every dark trauma, every curiosity I'd followed had left me with something. What once appeared to be scattered pieces of my life began revealing themselves as the foundations of an entirely unique ecosystem of work. I'm not sure yet whether this will remain a passion project or become the business that sustains me financially, time will tell. But my mission has never been money. It has always been Heal Humanity at the Root, and now I believe I've finally found my own path into completing that.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Perhaps the best career advice I ever received was no advice at all. My father encouraged the traditional route, religiously: find a stable career, invest in retirement, secure good benefits, and build a financially sound future. My mother offered something slightly different: find something that pays for the life you actually want to live. Both carried wisdom, but neither quite captured the Life I envisioned for myself. I've always had one foot on the ground and on eye staring at the stars, curious about what existed beyond the conventional paths laid before me. I didn't have a mentor mapping my future or a clear roadmap to follow. Much of what I've created was birthed through my own heart, mind, imagination, reroutes and almost relentless desire to explore what else might be possible. And perhaps the Absence of Direction became its own gift. It required me to experiment, fail, reinvent myself, and eventually recognize that I didn't need to fit neatly into an existing profession. I could take everything Life had taught me and create something entirely my own. Sometimes the greatest career advice isn't being told which path to follow – it's giving yourself the permission to make one.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Dream BIG, kid! That's my motto.
The world will tell you your dreams are "too big", "too unrealistic", "not enough this", "not enough that"... but sometimes that's only because the cages people built around what's possible are actually too small. Don't shrink your imagination to fit inside someone else's limitations, even your best friend, even your family. As much as the Love may exist here, "practicality" can be a hammer to fragile glass. I've always believed that if we can envision something better, we owe it to ourselves to explore what it might take to create it. Question the systems you're handed. Study them. Understand them. Challenge what isn't working, and don't be afraid to imagine something entirely outside the box. There will be people who mistake your curiosity for naivety, your ambition for unrealistic thinking, and your refusal to conform for rebellion.
LET THEM.
Some of us weren't made to fit comfortably, for good reason. Our minds are expansive, visionary, and our desire to improve the world... too persistent.
Dream Big. Stay Steady. Steady Curious. Pay Attention. Build Brick by Brick and learn everything you can. Never let someone else's ceiling become your sky.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Oh my, everything!? Haha. It's a field many don't want to hold yet, but they will. Right now the most challenging is the resistance to exploring what falls between established disciplines and trying to change the narrative around the word "magick". I believe it is not separate from the natural world, but deeply woven within it. Not necessarily "spellcasting witches and warlocks", but the Extraordinary Nature of Existence itself and what we find when we slow down enough to notice.
We have built incredible bodies of knowledge, yet so often we study the Human Experience in isolated compartments. The physical body here, the mind over there, our environment somewhere else, and Consciousness in an entirely different ballpark.
But what happens when we begin studying their relationships?
During my own journey with endo, I began questioning the intersections of trauma, chronic stress, inflammation, oxidative stress and the body's capacity for regulation and regeneration. Very little wanted to hear my findings or medicinal protocol at the time, but current research is beginning to mimic everything I was mapping out. This inquiry led me further into biology, neuroscience, physics and the intricate systems connecting our bodies to the living world.
And that's where I see our greatest opportunity – Understanding Frequency.
Not dismissing centuries of scientific discovery, but building upon them. Bringing disciplines into conversation, asking better questions, examining emerging evidence, and having the humility to acknowledge what remains unknown or unexplained. And perhaps what we've historically called "magick" deserves a little more curiosity, too.
The challenge is encouraging people to look beyond the boundaries of what they can currently perceive.
The opportunity is discovering what becomes possible when we do.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
RELATIONSHIP & PARTICIPATION:
Two values that have become foundational to everything I do... to everything I Am.
I believe we are in constant relationship with the living world. Our bodies, our thoughts, our environments, the food we consume, the people we love, the communities we build, and the ecosystems we inhabit. Nothing exists entirely in isolation.
But relationship alone isn't enough. We must be willing to participate.
To listen. To question. To nurture. To take responsibility for the ways we influence and are influenced by the world around us.
For me, participation means moving beyond simply knowing something and beginning to embody and integrate it. It's one thing to understand the importance of nourishing our bodies, protecting our peace, or cultivating compassion – but it's another to make those values visible through our daily choices.
This philosophy extends into my work. I don't want to position myself as someone holding all the answers while others simply receive them. I want to cultivate spaces that invite people to bring their own experiences, ask questions, exchange knowledge and become active contributors in their own growth. I also deeply value honesty, integrity, discernment, curiosity and reciprocity.
Relationship reminds us that we belong to something greater than ourselves.
Participation reminds us that we have a role in caring for it.
