Shelley Van Etten is the President and CEO of WLT Software Enterprises, Inc., a leading provider of advanced benefit plan administration and claims adjudication software for insurance companies, government employee plans, TPAs, and self-administered groups. With over 23 years at WLT Software, Shelley has guided the company through significant growth and innovation, ensuring that its solutions, including MediClaims and CompClaims, remain flexible and scalable to meet the unique needs of organizations of all sizes. Her leadership emphasizes client-directed development, adapting proactively to changes and trends in the benefit administration industry.
Prior to serving as CEO, Shelley held the role of CFO at WLT Software for more than 14 years, overseeing the company’s financial strategy and operations. She also gained valuable experience at PwC, where she worked as an Accounts Receivable Executive and AR Specialist, honing her expertise in financial management and organizational efficiency. Her educational foundation in business management from St. Petersburg College, complemented by a Project Management certification from Villanova University, has provided her with the skills to lead both strategic planning and operational execution successfully.

What do you attribute your success to?
She attributes her success to the hard work and dedication that she has to the field and for her love of the company which is also dear to her heart as the family business. She takes her position as CEO President and Chief Executive very seriously and always has the best interest of not only the client but also the coworkers that build such and amazing team which has been recognized for their expectational work.

You can achieve anything you set your mind to just set your goals and persevere through it all.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
You can and will make a difference. Stay focused, work hard, and keep moving forward.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Being able to launch the new systems that they have been working very diligently on.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Being dedicated to her job requirements to ensure the company runs smoothly but also having time for her friends and family which is also very important to her, and also having time for herself as well as she loves to read and enjoy the sunshine beaches of Florida where she is proud to live.
